the giants might be the most inconsistent team in the last 6 years. The team has been almost exactly the same the whole time, yet they go from 6-10 to 12-4. Injuries are not an excuse.

You can't blame a guy for giving them that record based off of their history. Would anybody be surprised if the giants went 8-8? 12-4? I don't think anybody would be either way

Big fight broke out at Jets camp between Joe McDouche and the RBs coaches son, who is a CB trying out for the team.

If the jets still cant get it together this year and continue to have all of the problems in the locker room, I wonder if ryan will get fired.

If you guys blow your wad during the regular season and get 10+ wins you can't do dick diddly in the playoffs. You should pray for 9-7 with a wildcard birth.

To be fair to Cowherd, have you seen the Pats schedule? Worst schedule in the NFL. Anything less than 12-4 would be a massive underachievement.

no if you think the pats are going to go 12-4 you are just living in the past when they wont superbowls!!! There is no modern precedent!

I don't see the issue. In the NFC East your usually guaranteed 3 losses between your divisional games - even the Redskins can sweep one of the other 3 in any given season.

Not hard to lose 3 close games the rest of the schedule.

Who cares if you are 10-6 or 9-7 going into the playoffs? You aren't going to get a top seed overall playing in that division. Not like the Niners or Patriots who can 6-0 their divisions.

Philly went 5-1 last year in your division, what are you talking about? Not sure exactly what you're trying to say. Also you could have used examples like GB and BAL who actually did sweep their division last year.

3 different teams since 2008 have swept the AFC North. CIN, BAL, PIT

This shit never happens in preseason. Belicheat better watch out, he may be on the hotseat soon since he's proven he obviously can't win it all without dem cameras. Now hes losing control of his team... what next?

Don't see how any Boston coach can keep a job after getting knocked out by NY in three of the last four years anyway.

for bregs, though im sure he knows already
Brandon Weeden won the Browns' starting quarterback job without playing a game.

Cleveland coach Pat Shurmur announced what had been an open secret after practice on Monday: Weeden, the No. 22 overall pick, will start Friday night in Detroit.

"Brandon is the starter and we're moving forward," Shurmur said. "We're rolling and I'm not looking back."

Weeden has taken snaps with Cleveland's first-team offense throughout training camp. He was pleased by the decision.

"I busted my tail for 10 practices now and put in a lot of work," Weeden said. "I've had my ups and downs. We play Friday. My job is to get the team playing better and win games ... starting Friday."

Incumbent starter Colt McCoy is now competing with 10-year veteran Seneca Wallace for the backup job.

"I sat down with all three guys separately and told them," Shurmur said. "Colt was very professional. Disappointed, but he handled it well."

McCoy believes he showed improvement, but has come to grips with the direction Cleveland is headed toward.

"Guys," he said, "it is what it is. I worked so hard and I felt so good. Every day, I approach my job as a professional. I get here early and am the last guy to leave."
