Thats the one thing I hate about the NFL. He gets fucked, the Jags cut him and his salary. He wants more money for taking a beating in that shit offense and hes a greedy pig. Reminds me of Brees in SD, he does the perceived "right thing" and puts team first, gets hurt and them niggas straight cut his ass. Owners are about that bottom line and have NO loyalty whatsoever, which is why I didnt mind DJax slacking after Lurie and crew was pump faking on this money.

Every player should pull a Revis and hold out every 2 years and keep getting that loaded front end money, cause you best bet that as soon as some rook comes in or a vet comes free on the cheap they will by you a bus ticket and tell you to gtfo and void your contract. Khan is derka douche and if anyone has dealt with them, know that his kind are shrewd businessmen.

the thing is, the jaguars have all of the chips here.

    1) The offense is showing big improvement so far (even gabbart isnt looking derp right now)
    2) RBs are a dime a dozen
    3) The jaguars still won't be a playoff team with him this year. At best, he adds 2 more wins. Does anyone actually think the Jaguars are an 8 win team without him?

I agree with everything in this post. the only thing is if the players wanna play the holdout game then they better be willing to go all in.

Makes me wonder what his long term plan is. Does he pull a Barry Sanders and just say fuck it im done? The situations arent to dissimilar when it comes to player talent compared to the rest of the team...well other then the fact Barry Sanders is one of a small list of possible best ever at his pos.

Barry took his teams to the playoffs, MJD keeps his team in the game. That's the difference. also like rhino has said RBs aren't "worth" what they were "worth" in terms of value regardless of $ amount that they used to be since it's such a QB/Pass heavy league now. If he was on a team with a great defense maybe he would have a case but he's not

    haha what

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...pps-potential/

Lost (but not lost deep enough) in the oft-contentious Warren Sapp book tour is a story from Sapp about an interaction he had with then-Browns coach Bill Belichick in 1995, as Sapp was preparing to enter the draft.

“He said ‘I wanna draft you so bad that I have an erection right now,’” Sapp said of Belichick, during a Tuesday interview with The Scott Van Pelt Show on ESPN Radio.

But, according to Sapp, Belichick told Sapp that former Browns personnel executive Mike Lombardi wouldn’t let Belichick draft him, due to the information obtained by the team’s security department about Sapp. (That elaboration was provided in Sapp’s interview with Howard Stern, summarized by JoeBucsFan.com.)

“We would have never left Cleveland,” Sapp said of what would have transpired if he had been a Brown. “Trust me, the Mistake by the Lake would have been righteous.”

The Browns actually had been in position to take Sapp as of late March that year, trading from No. 26 up to No. 10, with the Falcons. But the Browns eventually traded back down to No. 30 via a deal that allowed the 49ers to take receiver J.J. Stokes.

The Browns acquired, among other things, the 49ers’ first-round pick in 1996. With which they drafted Ray Lewis. Who has been getting Ravens fans aroused for 16 years and counting.

    SHURMUR DURR HURR

Browns CB Joe Haden kicked out of practice

BEREA, Ohio (AP) -- Joe Haden's training camp ended before any of his Browns teammates were finished.

Arguably Cleveland's best defensive player, Haden was kicked off the practice field Wednesday by coach Pat Shurmur, who felt the cornerback was being too physical with rookie wide receiver Travis Benjamin during a passing drill on the final day of workouts open to fans.

Haden was ordered to leave roughly an hour into the practice by an angry Shurmur, who declined to provide details of the incident during his news conference.

''I'm not going to talk about it,'' Shurmur said. ''That's between me and the player. I have a great deal of respect for Joe. If you want details, you're going to have to find it on Twitter.

''My only apology is that I used bad language and the fans were here to see it. Joe's a great competitor and I appreciate what he does and who he is and that's the last you'll hear me talk about it.''

Shurmur didn't even let a reporter finish a follow-up question.

''Don't ask,'' he snapped. ''Don't ask.''

During 7-on-7 drills, Benjamin caught a touchdown pass in the back of the end zone when he was taken down by Haden, who unsuccessfully tried to strip the ball and then yanked on the back of Benjamin's jersey. After being ejected by Shurmur, Haden removed his helmet and shoulder pads and quickly headed into the locker room.

Shurmur's annoyance with Haden could be understandable given the rash of injuries that have plagued the Browns since camp opened last month.

Benjamin recently missed time with an undisclosed injury, and 13 players, including rookie running back Trent Richardson, sat out Wednesday's workout. Richardson recently underwent knee surgery, On Monday, running back Chris Ogbonnaya sustained a leg injury when he got tangled at the end of a play.

Shurmur said player safety is his primary concern.

''It's important that we practice smart,'' he said. ''You have to be able to practice at game speed, and you win and lose in practice. I think it's important that guys understand that. I want all of our guys to make it to the horse race.''

Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson acknowledged that at the end of camp emotions may have contributed to the incident between Shurmur and Haden.

''Both guys, I think they both realize after they settled down it was a little bit overboard,'' Jackson said. ''But things happen and words were said, and once we get in the locker room it'll be over with.''

good news for the cowboys...yes it pains me to type that...
Dallas Cowboys doctors informed tight end Jason Witten he will not need spleen surgery that would have ended his season, according to a source familiar with the situation.

The bleeding in Witten's spleen has subsided, and doctors believe it now will heal on its own.

Witten still is aiming to return in time for the Cowboys' Sept. 5 regular-season opener against the New York Giants, but it is questionable whether he will be ready to play.

Witten is more likely to play in Week 2, when the Cowboys play at Seattle on Sept. 16.
