Right, so reaching for a QB...ie Tannehill and Wheedon...won't cost you years and years of rebuilding if they fail. You can take more chances.

Weeden is far from the only thing that's going to set the Browns back for years and years. Trading down in the first last year with a possibly elite WR in Julio Jones available when they don't have a legit #1 WR was incredibly stupid.

Having Julio Jones as a target for Colt McCoy last season probably would of removed any serious discussion of drafting Weeden in the first, or at all.

Now they're trying to get rid of McCoy in desperation, a just okay DT + a 28 year old rookie at QB and still needing a legit number one at WR.

Trading down last year was a great move. They got multiple quality starters, and Julio alone wouldn't have saved their passing game. And I fucking love Julio. ROLL DAMN TIDE

Drafting Weeden was stupid though, Colt wasn't the problem with the team. Basically unless you have a Rodgers/Brady/Brees-tier QB you have to build elite talent around him. Having one pedestrian QB take over for another won't help.
