Jets trade Wayne Hunter for a slightly less worthless tackle straight up, to the Rams. Personnel the Rams acquired from the Jets this offseason: Brian Schottenheimer, Matthew Mulligan, Wayne Hunter, and Vernon Gholston.

I could not find a snicker.jpg appropriate enough.

hernandez will have more all-purpose yards between his catching, running, and he was even returning punts during preseason

he is improving like crazy too. I wouldn't be that surprised to see him get more yards. He more like a WR though

Sean Lee can cover them both. Already got an INT off Brady while he was trying to throw to Hernandez. Not a lot of Sean Lee's out there though, but the highly drafted LBs coming out soon will adjust to the new TE trend.

Only 2nd LB to intercept both Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.

but seriously, can we take a minute to think of the athletes florida has produced the last few years? Harvin, hernandez, tebow. A few of the biggest "slash" players in the nfl. It's pretty crazy

Don't be mad. Even Belichick shook Sean Lee's hand after the game. Bill showing more respect than you.

Mr.Acl Thomas Davis was one of the few LBs athletic enough to cover TEs like that. That's why we got him. I have a problem believing that he's capable of that anymore after three tears. So that leaves us without an answer for Graham twice a year...he's gonna light us up. Again.

It got lost amongst Tebowmania, but it was great to see Davis come in and get a sack on his first snap back. Maybe he'll make it past week 1. *knocks on wood*

Point is, this TE thing isn't a new concept. Teams are always looking for someone athletic to counter them, just as teams are always looking for TEs athletic enough to be a match up nightmare. The reason everyone doesn't have an answer for them is the same reason everyone doesn't have TEs like that, they're rare. That's why it's common for basketball players to be brought in to play TE. The more athletic players usually don't gravitate towards TE when they're younger. Coaches want them at WR, HB, CB, LB, QB etc. It's the same as how we're seeing more and more athletic QBs. Coaches aren't moving them out to other positions as often as they used to, i.e. TE to have that athleticism at the position. The game is always evolving.
