Caught up on the AJC Falcons blog and it is pretty much known Lofton is being let go. I'm actually ok with this now after seeing some of the contracts guys like Ahmad Brooks and D'Qwell Jackson are getting. Lofton is very solid and almost pro-bowl caliber but not an irreplaceable type. The money can definitely be better spent elsewhere. Mario Williams, perhaps?

...with what money? falcons have like 7m under the cap. Williams will at least be $14m per year

There are always options with restructuring current contracts. We would be able to make it happen if we really wanted to, the question is if he will be worth it with how crazy the bidding war will probably be.
