Jackson signs five-year deal with Eagles, promises Super Bowl

DeSean Jackson is set to remain with the Philadelphia Eagles for the next half a decade, and he believes his presence on the team will lead to big things. Super things, in fact.

The Pro Bowl wideout generated a stir when he outright promised that Philadelphia would win a championship during the span of his five-year contract, which he signed Thursday before meeting with reporters.

"I'm just happy to still be here," Jackson said. "... I'm going to guarantee a Super Bowl. We've been so close since I've been here the past four years. ... The sky's the limit."

Jackson's deal is worth $48.5 million, a source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora on Wednesday.

Jackson spoke lovingly of his father, who passed away in 2009 of pancreatic cancer, before heaping praise on his teammates: "Hands down I think we're one of the best teams in the NFL," he said.

Added Jackson: "I want to shoot for the Hall of Fame. I want to shoot for Super Bowls. That's something I haven't done yet."

Jackson has career totals of 230 receptions, 4,096 yards and 21 touchdowns in four seasons in Philadelphia after he was a second-round pick in 2008 out of Cal. He also has three rushing scores and a franchise-record four punt returns for touchdowns.

Jackson, 25, was named to the Pro Bowl following the 2009 and 2010 seasons, and is one of five players in NFL history to at least 900 yards receiving in each of his four seasons.
