I'm so used to being disappointed... it's pretty much impossible to slow your roll on the feelings building up after hearing some shit like that. I mean I thought it before the end of last season, people talked about it. It was a bit confusing why SF wasn't even involved in the discussions for a while but I had adjusted to it and moved on.

Gotta give the niners credit, they handled this better than any other team. They went to watch him throw and put him through a physical and no one knew. No TV cameras, no ESPN hoopla, no strange helicopter chases. That's gotta make Manning feel better than what he went through in Denver and Tennessee (and I suppose Arizona to a lesser degree).

Even with Hutch, you're trippin'. And your TE isn't better than Clark, and I'd be incredibly surprised if his contract doesn't follow Manning in about 30 seconds. As for the better city, lol.

For the WR corps, even that I'm not sold on. RB, Johnson has anyone on Denver beat in terms of talent, but even without Tebow on the field, the Broncos have a strong enough running game that the difference is nulled. And Johnson's attitude may be a bigger liability than his talent is an asset.

And Denver has a ton more cap space to hire anyone they want, this year and next year, and an owner *far* more inclined over the decades to stay damn close to the salary cap. Both Bowlen and Adams have great reputations with their front offices, but Bowlen's got the freer hand when it comes to contracts.

There's also the reality that signing with Denver is basically a guaranteed playoff spot with how awful the division is; the Texans are good enough that even with Manning in TN, it's no sure thing that they'll win their division.

I can see a case for Tennessee, but to say anyone who isn't glomming onto TN as the best choice is just a homer is at best mildly hypocritical.

Of course, the best team right now would be the 49ers, other than having to destroy Eli in the post-season, but that's a different issue.

You're absolutely clueless; CJ has no attitude problem what-so-ever. In fact, he is an exemplary teammate, goes hard at practice, and never opens his mouth. Just because he can barely speak english doesn't mean he has an attitude problem.

Clark could easily just flat out be DONE in the league.

Manning cares out passing protection and not getting his neck broken; TN was 2nd in the league with a WORSE than current O-line. How in the world am I "trippin"? Can you not look up stats?

Best WR as a group: TN
Best RB: TN

Where did he go to college? TN
Where is his wife from? TN
Where does he own multiple homes? TN
Where does his kids grandparents live? TN

So again, anyone who would think he would choose Denver or Arizona, (or lol Miami) as a landing spot over TN is, in fact, a homer or moron.

I suppose if you were the one giving the "situation" to said clueless person. If it was as open and shut of a case as you make it sound he would have already signed. As it stands every team left in the race has something appealing to to entice Manning signing, for us to speculate which is more likely is nothing more than a speculation at this point.


Also you keep talking about o-line in TEN but o-line is not the only factor in a team giving up sacks, there are other variables to consider when being sacked i.e. WR's getting separation, great man to man coverage, a QB holding on to the ball too long, a QB not sensing pressure to name a few

Denver had 13 more QB hits than TN did, with *TEBOW* as the QB for most of the season. Ponder that for a moment. Tebow was the QB, with his year-long release, and Denver still only had 13 more QB hits. With a running, scrambling, imbecilic QB. Clady is one of the best LTs in the league, and the rest of the line in Denver is at worst good. Most of their struggles in actual protection came early in the year; by the end, the line was very, very good. They had a new scheme last year to learn with no camp to learn it in, and *then* had to switch schemes again mid-season. And still allowed less than one-hit-per-game more than the Titans. I'm not saying the Titan's O-line is bad, but to simply look at sacks-taken and think that that's the only information that matters is silly. Hass is no Manning, but he's lightyears past Tebow, and he knows how to get the ball out of his hands-- the difference in hits and sacks is easily made up for in having a competent QB, even with Denver's lower number of passing attempts. Denver's line is very, very good. It's really not their fault they were Tebowed.

i don't think you've taken into consideration where he visited his grandparents as a child, it's a very important factor in determining where you spend the next 3+ years, he has fond memories of tire swings and swimming in ponds.

Yes, I understand there is more to an O-line than sacks. That is why I specifically prefaced that with Manning caring about not getting hit because of his neck. He probably gives much less of a shit about how well they run block and much more of a shit about how often he is eating dirt. I figured it was obvious though.

Also, I would think he would NOT want to deal with the whole Tebow issue, which WILL proceed whether they cut/trade him or not in Denver. If Manning starts 2-2 with Denver, Tebow is going to be all over Denver headlines, regardless of which state he is currently in. Better to just avoid that mess all together.

And how is Denver a better fit as a city/stadium when it is much colder and there is more snow there? Bones break easier in cold weather boys, and Manning has always performed much better in neutral climate or indoor stadiums.

Edit: But yes. Fox is a total joke. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, a lot of people in the NFL don't feel that way, and he's a coach who has a reputation for players loving. I don't get it, but there it is. Also, same misunderstanding w/ the "four teams" bit, given that it's changed today.

Edit edit: As for the cold/snow... not especially? Average temp last year in Dec/Jan games in Denver was about 45 degrees, and, going from memory, there was 1 snow game last year. That might be a difference between AZ, Miami, or SF, but with Tennessee? Nah. Denver occassionally gets a bad week, but it's not a constant blizzard-fest, and it's not particularly cold for a continental city. I don't know the average temp in TN in December and January games, but I doubt it was significantly different than Denver's was.
