This is actually a pretty interesting thing, but I don't really know the best way to explain it. Basically it goes: generally being noticed is good. But when you don't particularly want the relationship to develop beyond that, unless you talk to the person about boundaries, etc., more than "being noticed" starts to get annoying. There's "playing hard to get" and then there's "not playing at all". Some guys just don't know or can't tell (or don't want to know?) the difference.

So yeah basically you're right, unless the person doing the caring is someone the bitch also cares about or is interested in. Not really sure if that explains it well but my brain is fried from a very busy day at work, so sorry about that.

Well for me, over time I've worked out that it's just easier to get things in the clear from the beginning. If that results in some butthurtedness from being put "in the friend zone" then well, they're not worth my time anyway. But the problem is that it's actually *really hard* to actually say that in some situations. Probably because women have been socialised for the most part to "not upset the boat" and not be up front about our opinions. Also, if you like someone, and legitimately would like to have them as a friend, it can be hard to see them get upset or embarrassed or something due to your rejection of them. Also, sometimes they just don't listen to you. This happened to me over various occasions - times when I would make friends with a guy but they saw my attention-paying to them as being signs of being interested in them as more than a friend, even though I had told them plainly that I had a bf and wasn't interested in them being anything more than a friend. And then after I'd told them several times and dropped even more hints several times they still didn't get it, so I had to drop them completely. Which really sucked, actually, because it meant that in my mind they were just jerks, even though they might have actually been good friends if things had worked out differently. *shrug* I dunno.

Well, I suspect it's partly cos they don't find the girls attractive, but my point was more that they're happy with being and making friends with girls even if they don't get to stick their dicks in.

ETA: didn't write that quite right. I meant that I suspect some of the reason they don't actively seek to stick dick in some of the girls is because they don't find them attractive. I know that they have some very attractive friends-only girls but they're off limits for other reasons, but my male friends don't pursue them because of these reasons (i.e. cos they're decent human beings).
