Well apparently I picked up a fake guild wars 2 box with a fake headstart code that allowed me to download the client from their site and play a fake game in multiple fake events.

This is from gamestop but I believe this is how most stores were doing it. Basically headstart code is not the final code. Too much trouble, this is why I just bought digital version which is just one code.
You serious? That's how you get the physical head start code genius. Or did you think they gave you the actual shipped product months before release? You pick it up after launch, like every other product in the world. Hence why you have 5 days to add the retail code.

I don't remember reading that on the box, I'll have to check it out later.
I'm also confused what exactly the point of the discs are if the entire game is already installed on your computer. The full game was accessible the last few stress tests.
For people who didn't preorder/prepurchase so they don't have to download the entire game when they do buy it.
Not having to download 15gb in patches if you reinstall? It was your decision to pre purchase the physical copy lol, this isn't exactly anything new. Some people want the discs and the manual for their shelf.
Well, when I bought it I expected a disk off the bat. Since I never got one I figured that I wasn't gonna get one and didn't think about it again.
Is BG still on for playing on Ehmery Bay once pre-release and launch come about?
Aside from not being near your personal story quests, is there any downside to leveling in a different area? As in leveling a human in the norn area?
Not really
No real downside, except travel I guess?
But achievement seekers will want to do it eventually. And people who play with friends a lot. The great thing about GW2 is the system that down levels higher characters to the areas level. So it keeps things fun. Was always bored out of my mind just zerging friends through dungeons on their alt characters.
I pre-ordereda boxed copy from Amazon yesterday. Am I too late to get in on the head start? Amazon has not sent me any e-mails and is vague on the order page.
I really hope I won't have to deflower my CE box.![]()
You will have to.
Dunno why you would preorder from amazon instead of GW2 directly when release is so close. Amazon usually waits 1-2 days to send you out your code, and since you only "pre-ordered" you only get 1 day headstart so you won't be able to play until Monday so should be fine either way.
If I were you I would cancel that pre-order asap and buy it directly from GW2. Don't see a point in "pre-ordering" it when the game is being released in 4 days anyways... when you get more bonus's for pre-purchasing
Just been looking on gw2guilds.com and have a question - are the EU servers listed there official EU servers? What are those servers like compared to NA servers in terms of community and WvW? In my experience (including recent experience with TERA) EU servers are usually pretty awful, so I'm wondering if it would be best to choose a NA server even though I'm from the UK.
Thanks, and sorry if I sound ignorant - I haven't had much time to keep up with GW2.
how could anyone tell you what the community is like for a game that hasn't been released yet? also, you can find good/bad people everywhere. if you're big into WvW, you might want to check out on which servers the hc WvW guilds are.

Use this to maybe get a general ideia if want to pick 1 http://www.asuralabs.com/serverPoll.php for some reason on EU side the 4 french servers seems to be the must focus on WvW
