It's automatic and in any zone.
Auto. You don't even notice it.
I'm probably not even going to go to a 15-25 zone until I complete at least 3 newbie zones. Exp is still good, get items based on your actual level (not the downgraded level), and newbie zones seem to have more skill point challenges than the later zones.
Yeah I'm kinda thinking the same thing except I want to 100% each starter zone before moving on there just so much good content to experience even in the 1~15 zones.
I only knew downscaling from FFXI and the way it works in GW2 blew me away. the only time I actually noticed my levels was on lvl up.
I'm indecisive between sanctum of rall and Ehmry bay. Any one have any idea exactly how big sanctum is shaping up to be?
People have used this to get a rough idea:
http://www.gw2guilds.org/servers/us?...ers&order=desc
So I went to the store to pick up this disc and "new code" that you guys said I had to pick up. Guy looked at me like I had shit growing out of my head. He said I can pick up my disc on Tues if I want to, but the code I was given before will work for this head start.
So yeah.
You completely misunderstood everything people have said to you.
Your headstart code is what you inputted to...
1) Create your Guild Wars 2 account
2) Play in the Beta Weekend Events/Stress Tests/Headstart
What this code will NOT do is, allow you continue playing GW2 past, September 1st. You have to go pick up your box and go into your account and input the retail code that will be in the physical box along with the disc. You have 5 days to do this after launch.
That's what I'm saying. The guy said there's no such thing as a retail code. Just the disc.
It was the manager, so I'd hope he had some clue what was going on.
Canadia.
Taken directly from guildwars2.com, To be safe I would double check when you get your box next week
Which makes sense, its obvious there are 2 types of keys, pre-purchase for headstart and beta access, and one that comes in the retail box, the retail key. Which makes sense cus If you go into a store to buy next week I am sure they not gonna give you an empty box, but the full game CD packaged with a retail key.Standard Edition (North America)—Customers who pre-purchase the Guild Wars 2 Standard Edition will receive their Pre-Purchase serial code in different ways depending on where it was purchased.
U.S. customers will receive their Pre-Purchase serial code on a store receipt or in an email from the retailer.
Canadian customers will receive their Pre-Purchase serial code inside of the Standard Edition Pre-Purchase box.
Customers in Australia and New Zealand will receive their Pre-Purchase serial code on a Standard Edition Pre-Purchase card.
Every customer will then go to https://register.guildwars2.com and follow the on-screen instructions to create a Guild Wars 2 account and apply the Pre-Purchase serial code. This will give them access to Beta Weekend Events, the Hero's Band digital item, and three-day Headstart Access to the final game.
When Guild Wars 2 launches, customers will need to return to the retailer with proof of purchase in order to receive the full Standard Edition box and the retail serial code. They'll need to apply this retail serial code to their Guild Wars 2 account within five days of launch to continue playing without interruption.
Obviously they had to issue temp keys for pre-purchasers of the physical copy. In the US at least this is needed I guess due to some regulation, hence why in EU they didn't need a second key.
I think this nig is new to video games.
Well when I get the disc I'll obviously find out if there's another code, but he showed me an unopened disc box and it didn't say anything about it.
