This is one of the best Fractal guides I've read so far: http://lopezirl.com/2013/01/07/a-gui...romancer-tips/

He gives extra tips for cond. Necro but the general guide works for any classes/builds.

That's odd. I just camped the chest for about 15 minutes then I was able to open it again without a problem.

I was looking at that build a while ago for an alternative to my condition setup and I have been saving up karma to get the soldier-type gear for it. Are thieves not wanted in condition spec usually? I ask because I'm really fond of my condition setup, even though I'm sure it needs improvement (mainly rares upgrading to exotics and getting the nice upgrade parts instead of being cheap). There's just something about seeing all those numbers getting tossed above the enemy's head that makes it a lot of fun.

Thanks for this, I have been looking for a detailed guide to it for a little while.

Condition spec thieves are just bad compared to physical damage thieves. Although P/D condition spec is amazing in 1v1 in WvW. The problem is the cap on conditions.

This is the real issue. Although if your group makeup is correct you really are not going to be hitting that cap all by yourself. Now if you have 3 bleeders in the group you are pretty much hurting yourself everytime you play together.

Damnit I didnt mean it that way....

oh and Mutley is classic. Who was his "boss" again? All I can remember is that one show where they all raced characters from like a bunch of other cartoons. Mario Kart 1.0 and all.

    Snidely Whiplash IIRC.

Anyway, what builds would someone suggest for a Theif in WvW and how well would it work for PvE?

EDIT: Dick Dastardly, keep getting those two confused for some reason.

If you don't mind, can you link your build for this setup? Also what equips and upgrade items do you use (PVT, zerkers, or something else)?

I'm trying to build a ranger and I saw people around here talking about how godlike rangers are. Can anyone link me a build/armor setup? I'm a bit lost on this class, to be honest.

Would only take a Ranger seriously who used Greatsword to tank and Longbow - Axe/Warhorn as offhands.

That was more or less my intentions with him. I just don't really know what kind of build to go for. I was thinking tanky, since I have an elementalist for DPS and a Guardian for support/tank.

PvE dungeons I run either as Cond/Tough CC trap build when I play with randoms, or more support orientated through traits and pets with my static. Both builds with SB + axe/horn. First build with high survivability and CC is always a good start if you don't have any idea who you're up with. To really shine with a Ranger supp build, you need a party that knows how to work with you. Our static thief knows the CD of my healing spring better than I do All that is generally spoken. Changing traits and utility skills on the fly is a given, especially in Fractals.

In WvW, it depends again. I started with a full condition build. This works pretty good if you are <20-25 with enemy groups around the same size. However, we're now T2 -T1 for 3 months and we mostly run multi-guild zergs with our own. Means, we're anywhere between 30 - 60 and that's where I simply do not enough damage with that build. Switched to a power/crit build with around 20k hp and 1.7k toughness. Feels much better but I'm still twinking it here and there.

I also tested a spirits tank/support build, which almost works when we run only with our guild. Almost because it works during skirmishing, but are totally useless during tapping/defending. You can switch them out but since you need the full 30 points trait to make them worthwile to begin with, the entire build lacks heavily during most of my WvW time.

Does anyone have the website with the updated maps for Tier 6 gathering nodes? I've tried but came up empty handed, I know someone posted it on here once.
