Is there any truth in Healing Skill not scaling that well? I was browsing the OF (Yeah I know it's unreliable) however the common trend for guardians seems to be cleric prefix for accessories and knights prefix for armor/weapons and wondering if there's any truth in that.

it's not that hot. a lot of really popular skills/traits that use healing power have a really low coefficient, see: altruistic healing having a .01 coefficient, etc. there's also some meta game business regarding lifesteal food being more hp/s than pretty much anything else in the game, further reducing healing power's usefulness because food doesn't scale off it.

for example, if you're using cleric's armor on guardian with altruistic healing and have ~1,300 healing power, you would only gain 13 hp per boon. it would add 78 to virtue of resolve, but you lose a shit ton of precision which is directly converted to hp/s with lifesteal food. you also deal more damage with not-cleric gear, thus killing shit faster and lowering aggregate damage taken which is basically the same as healing more.

i'm sure someone could make an argument for healing gear that's solid, not me though.

Healing power for Guardian is just dumb. Their only abilities that scale well are staff and heal on dodge.

Full support Guardians are shit though because even if you heal for 1100 HP the shit you fight takes 5x that or more every time you get hit. You also sacrifice a lot of survival to even do it moderately well and certainly sacrifice all of your DPS.

Knight's Armor+Knights(or Berserkers) jewelry with Berserker jewels is pretty much the best you can do. Run AH, run might on crit, etc.

For WvW, Soldier's Runes are pretty much top notch.

Anyone got a link to or know a list of viable guardian builds for pvp? I know about the bunker build, and it works well enough but i want to try something different. Out of all the different things i've tried so far, the best i've seen is a spirit weapon build using the scepter and focus. I've tried burn builds but that didn't work out to well. I've also tried the might build, but it seems to only really work for PVE (my main problem is landing all the hits of whirling rage. I tried packing up some fire field abilities to use the hammer with and get might, plus virtue of justice, but it almost seems like i'm better off just using empower from staff for the 12 stacks. Renewed justice is also shit for pvp, and much better for pve).

I don't play structured, but the roles seem to be very defined/dependent on group comp. The 0/0/30/30/10 build with the armor I posted is pretty standard in WvW, outside of AH berserker guardians using the same build. You can try digging around at gw2guru though.

Well that's a disappointment. Guess I'll farm some ectos and make a new set.

Yeah can't wait to get that, I'll probably end up getting the conjure GS spell, but again, not sure because you can't reset skill points unlike traits? So I don't want to spend and then be doomed with it.

Conjured Greatsword is really meh, i wouldn't use it over glyph of elemental or tornado, Conjured Bow was really good for killing burrows in AC but other than that the conjured weapons really do kinda suck. The skins they have though are pretty awesome.

easily the dumbest thing i've seen posted.

firey gs can single handedly break entire zergs and you get fucking two of them.

Tornado is good for fucking people out of small areas, think Towers that are being capped or choke points - though GS is nice for choke points as well and actually does damage. Tornado is nice for Towers because you can knock people out of them.
