My primary use of Tornado was for spots where I knew people would be squatting on siege. Mist Form/Teleport in, Tornado everyone off the siege, get the fuck out or let the zerg come in to sweep.

I like Tornado because it's like a huge PUT CONFUSION ON ME beacon. It will proc like 3-5 times/second.
I checked around and i was pleased to find a working offensive build. Never realized zealot's defense and cleansing flame did so much damage. My only limitation is keeping the enemy still long enough to inflict full damage. The chains on the scepter just don't last long enough to give me enough time to unload.
zealot's defense actually works out to less DPS than just auto-attacking, it should be reserved for when you won't be able to land an auto chain or when you need a fast projectile block.
Then i guess i will just save immobilize for the breathe attack.
For those of you that crafted your precursor through the mystic forge, how many attempts would you say it took?
Exotics. I mostly just farm the living shit out of CoF/SE and try about 3ish attempts a week.
I just saved for mine. CoF runs are decent money, plus playing the TP a little bit. But my precursor isn't one of the expensive ones, and they were a lot cheaper back in October/November.
I'd run a bunch of dungeons and the event chests like you're doing currently, and sell the proceeds. Then save that capital, or maybe use it to play the TP on low-risk low-return strategies.
So what are the best ways to farm some karma? Papa needs him some balth temple exotics.
Do your dailies and monthlies. Otherwise cursed shore on a populated server is best. Do both forts, raka, slime, plinx, spider, ect.. All in the top part if the map above melandru
Then it looks like cursed shore, it is!
I think doing dungeons would be better. Speed running CoF1 would net you a lot of drops of karma which should be faster than any world event chains. Not to mention the dungeon tokens which also can get you armor/weapons/ectos. And the amount of silver that drops would let you buy any armor pretty fast too. I'd only recommend Cursed Shore for loot bags for T6 mats if you feel lucky, although I guess you could sell the bags but what fun is that.
I'm actually fairly certain you can Karma train faster in WvW.
Edit: I spent all my Karma 2 weeks ago and had like 20,000 left. I now have 275,000 and I don't even Karma train, even spend a lot of time just defending stuff or coordinating siege/defenses/scouting. Also only Rank 24 in WvW.
Karma is an easy thing...
Like Kat said, completing your dailies and monthly will give you a total of 315k karma by simply logging in and going about your business each day of a single month. (Granted you use a karma boost, a guild 15% karma for 24hours, a 5% banner and any icecream buff. This is the most casual manner to gain karma and can be split up amongst your characters however you wish.
Spamming CoF1 will give you 3 drops of karma per run for 2100 karma per run (if you use the afforementioned karma buffs).
Running Cursed Shore events can easily garner you 5-8k karma an hour once you are comfortable with the event timings, more if you are running a karma booster (even more with one or more of the guild buff/banner/icecream running.)
WvW is a crapshoot, if you are active and your server is not being rolled over at the time you are playing, you can easily gain more than 10k an hour in a zerg. However it is going to be more determined by the activity on your server at the time you are playing and that is something you can not change yourself.
In general the easiest road is the simplest. If you are willing to do your dailies you will more than be able to purchase your set of karma gear in 3-4 weeks. If you are not, you have to weigh the pro's and cons of the other methods. WvW can be really good one day and really poor another. Cursed Shore is going to be pretty decent but not awesome. Dungeon Spamming is going to garner you between 4200-8400+ an hour depending on the speed and reliability of your group. (15 minute CoF runs can be done but are rare while pugging. Plus if your pug isnt spamming you have down time while finding a follow up group.)
I'm pretty sure Bauble farming would be the fastest way to get Obsidian shards right now.
I know this conversation is about someone wanting free exotics, but none-the-less.
Interestingly, I'm grinding baubles for, Crystals, since I blew most of my skill points making an Exotic weapon set, then Dusk dropped from the Mystic Forge. I've some 2.5 million Karma, atm, so the skill points are my lowest currency.
Which Arah path do you guys suggest when you want to farm tokens?
2 & 3 are far easier for pugs than 1 or 4. 1 is just an avoid at all costs.
