So happy I decided to go Guardian Asura. Looks amazing.

My favorite part? Just going by racial armors alone you have more different sets of armor than some other MMOs. I love the Sylvari tier 1 and tier 2 heavy sets.
Frick I love Sylvari made this my desktop

So, as I do with all MMOs I play, I take about 3 trillion screenshots and then plan to post them all at once.
After going through them all, I noticed I really really really should've forced AF. I noticed it in game obviously, but I didn't really care that much, ruins screenshots though.

Also just want to say:
FUCK YOU DOUBLE TAP DIRECTION TO DODGE, I DID THIS EVEN WITH YOU CONSPIRING AGAINST ME.

Great shots! How did your machine run the game?
Not that spectacular but my computer is a little dated. Got like 25-30fps on pretty much highest settings in highly populated areas, which is playable, but you can feel it get sluggish when you go below 25.
Phenom II x4 940, HD6850, and 6GB RAM
I think that's just a little less than I got with RIFT with mostly highest settings as well (I don't think I had 4xAA or maxed drawdistances) and I played that game like that.
Rift's engine isn't terribly optimized, though, as I imagine you probably got into the 1 FPS slideshows at zone events. My PC's like 3-4 years old by now and the only real issues I'd had were loading new areas after WPing causing some stutter, but I kind of expect that. Not sure how PvPing would fare yet depending on how many people you'd actually wind up seeing. Still, I'd say I handled PvE events well enough with roughly 25 people about and then all the mobs on top.
Yeah that's true, forgot about that. I was always running FRAPS while playing RIFT, zonewide events = 10fps guaranteed. I wasn't meaning to say GW2 ran like shit or anything though, it did well for what I have I think. Also that WPing thing really bugged me lol, especially going from city to city using the purple teleporter and the map being blacked out for 5+s. I don't know why it did, was only 5 seconds, but as soon as I zoned I'd always open my map to get my bearings and then remember I couldn't see shit till I ran forward for a bit.
iirc general options. it's a checkbox to disable it.
Ah, thanks, at least whenever I buy GW2 I'll know. No idea how I missed it. I looked for it, specifically, twice and went in options a few other times to change other things.
I found myself reminded strongly of Rift's ass engine when trying Conquest from their most recent patch. Yes, Trion, let's throw hundreds of players into possible skirmishes where you're being hit by people you can't even see. And if you're a Warrior? Forget about it. You're not allowed to have a ranged attack, so good luck getting close to those you CAN see.
I see your Racial Armor and I raise you Dungeon Armor sets.

Missed a couple here and there, but you get the jist of it. Catacomb armor looks remarkably like the Tier1 human racial set. Everything else looks pretty unique after that. The Orr and Nightmare court armors are my favorite. (Once again do note that my default colors on the character I was using were Red/White/Black and I did not have shoulders/helm so those colors are actually the default armor color for each piece. So colors do tend to look a little wonky sometimes. You can still see the models though and imagine how they'd look in your color scheme. And yes the Sorrow's Embrace gear gives clothies a helm that looks like Darth Vader... lol
Might depend on your definition of Rare. I'd put the event in the Hard/Frustrating category, due to all of the jumping involved, vs the really low spawn chance category, though the initial Key acquisition may be in the rare part. I'm rather surprised at how accurate the platform jumping can be, despite the somewhat clunky collision detection characters can have, with the environment. Still, it's my least favorite part, of MMOs, and it can almost always be done better.
Give me capes, Anet. Now.
I WOULD KILL to have a cape on my asura, he'd look so freaking good
Really like Flame Citadel sets! And Arah's skeleton face :3
Also, amazing stuff on that video, had no idea such an event existedThey're really crazy about doing all the hidden stuff.
