The whole "gateway drug" thing can even be linked back to how hard politicos are pushing against it. People try it out, find out everything they were told was bullshit, and then start wondering about other substances.

I thought it just stems back from people being idealistic about things instead of understanding them and just assuming if someone hangs with 'evil Mary Jane' they will want to hang with all her distant sadistic cousins excessively.
What a shocker, Christie is swinging right with toothless rhetoric before the primaries to build his conservative cred.
Yeah, meanwhile he is smeared in local news here because he met with a girl who suffers from terrible seizures, and after trying "everything" the only relief she finds is from marijuana to stop her seizures. These grieving parents asked if Christie would be for legalizing medical marijuana. He gave a bunch of good answers to sound like the good guy, and then half a year later it is now swept under the rug with an obvious "nope!".
He then a few weeks ago got was on the 'ask the governor' on NJ101.5 (states largest station) and while discussing the states pension gap he keeps fucking with wanting to now renegotiate again with the unions after falling short. That he would not legalize and tax marijuana because he refuses "blood money". The next day this conservative and pro-Christie station themselves even called it hypocrisy because the state has no issue taking money from drug busts, etc.
Always great when you see a local paper like the Star Ledger with a column saying they "made the mistake of backing Christie for reelection after being divided on the issue".
Anyway, don't count on the Republicans to change anything socially because they know where their money comes from. Those who want it the way it is.
It's an attempt for him to push numbers in the conservative base for the primaries. He thinks that he can get more idiot followers who would undoubtedly follow behind him because they are too still stuck in the early 80s in wanting prohibition. At best he'll get the old grandmas and grandpas who still believe marijuana's primary purpose is for making kids loopy all day and completely disregard the people it does help when using it for medial purposes.
Christie obviously did not realize that Colorado is an important swing state. I'm willing to bet he will watch the CNN special on Sunday and completely change his tone on the matter. Just like he always does.
Dem dudes on High Profits made 47,000$ on day one of legalized rec. marijuana in Colorado.
Day one, right out of the gate. 100,000$+ on Day 2.
Fuck my face. I think I picked the wrong profession.
just finished watching this.
