Marijuana Legalization/Decriminalization Efforts

My dad, as it turns out, owns 118 acres of uncultivated farmland. I was going through paperwork to get a hemp growing license but now I'm holding off. If they legalize it in NY I don't want to have already paid all these fees they're asking for exemptions as of now.

The farmland is in NY? We (myself, wife, and friends) have seen some people in Orange County, NY coming in to the black dirt region to start cultivating the land for just the soil alone. They're shipping it out to farms and hydroponic facilities. It's great for indoor growing because of the number of nutrients apparently.

Some of these guys hang at a distillery in the area. We've seen one group of them twice. Moved east from Portland or something.

My father-in-law used to find patches on their land (think its 35 acres?) and he'd chop it all down. The neighbors allegedly make meth up on the hillside and he thought they were growing weed to sell too.

He thought they were sewn seeds? Or just wild marijuana. We used to stumble across wild stuff all the time back in Madison on the disc golf course, it's incredibly weak of course.

It's resilient if it's nothing else. We put a lot of effort into eradicating it, but our plains are vast, and yes feral hemp is out there in sporadic places from western NE & KS to.. south central WI apparently. I'm not sure what traits we will desire from these phenotypes, but they should be useful for certain genetics tweaking.

Feral hemp cultivars generally have <0.5% THC, <0.5% CBD, and <2% total cannabinoid content.

For comparison, some of the stickiest icky nowadays has 25%+ THC and 30-40% total cannabinoid content.

No shit, you're like 15 minutes south of me, I live and work in Warren county, it borders Saratoga county.

Hilariously our home office minister who controls drug policy is married to a gentleman who owns the largest marijuana producing company in the UK ( although it's all exported for other countries medical MJ ).
