Ontario's premier made a statement about stopping illegal marijuana vendors, then his daughter did an influencer post on instagram for one.
That pic is fucking gross

Gov Cuomo is going to push to legalize recreational marijuana in NY a few months. And it'll be expected to pass in all chambers.
THANK YOU BASED GOD.
use the taxes to fix the fucking subways and the fucking schools
yeah u rite.
He already gave an outline of his plan.
Taxes would be imposed on growers/wholesale rather than at retail. Not that it wouldn't be passed on in pricing. Includes a 20% state tax and a 2% local tax.
Separate permitting/licensing for growers/retailers.
Cities/counties can ban the sale of marijuana.
21+ onry
Earliest legal sales would begin in April 2020 if everything passes through in a timely manner.
There's also already a bunch of misinformation coming out in local papers to scare people. They say that 1 in 3 people will need rehab if weed is legalized, despite falling marijuana-related addiction treatment in the state. They also have claims he stated that NY would see several hundred million in tax revenue from marijuana sales, using other states lower figures as examples of why his plan is bad. Cuomo stated they're projecting $83 million for the first fiscal year, not the several hundred million some people are claiming. There were a few other things I remember reading to scare people, like cartels taking over whole towns and turning them into marijuana growing communities by force or some shit.
Honestly, between MA just opening legal sales and NJ looking to start it makes sense to try to keep that revenue within the state.
Lol, none of that silly shit is going to happen in NY -- it's dorky NY-Republican scare tactics. They are pretty mad they got waxed in last years elections across the state. Though a good deal of people outside of the city are VERY ignorant of cannabis in general. I expect a very steady decline in marijuana related crimes in the city, and a decline in heroin and opiate related crimes in upstate because of this. Many people turn to that shit because bud is so hard to get in a timely fashion.
I think I might actually get myself licensed to grow and sell in the state if everything is smooth sailing. This is going to be super big bank in upstate.
Weather was expected to be bad this weekend so I'm shooting to set up my doctor appointment hopefully next Saturday. I was looking at some sites for shops around my way and they sell capsules. I want to say 25 thc 50mg cbd, 30 for around $60? At work so I'm not looking at the sites. Anyways, can anyone who takes edibles for anxiety chime in on what thc to cbd they find works for them?
yeah, true.
Another part of the deal is that you can't have both licenses. You can either be a grower or a retailer, but not both. I think this is a little strange since I would personally look to buy a good strain direct from the grower, but I'm guessing they have reasons. I'd bet this could be easily circumvented by me getting one license and my friend getting the other, then just partnering up.
I had thought about it as well. To be able to grow the amount you'd need to in order to be profitable may not be feasible for an individual. Setting up a retail shop, though definitely costly in several ways, would be more feasible I think. Then again, can just get a grower's license and grow for yourself.
God damn. It’s been getting mighty tempting between Jersey with legalized sports gambling and NY legalizing weed to move back home lol.
I don't do edibles so much over bud, but marijuana for anxiety is always tricky. Find a nice indica strain that is like 10~15% in both CBD and THC (or 20%+ CBD, 5~% THC), and use that as a starting point. You don't want something that's very high in THC, because that will for sure induce some psychosis if you're anxious already from the jump.
Start low, and go slow as well. Especially low as possible for edibles. It creeps up on ya if you eat too much, all at once.
I'm excited for low THC weed tbh. I wanna not be locked to my couch.
Hmm, that makes it more interesting then. I'd say being a grower will be much more important than a seller, at least in upstate for sure. In the city it'll be much more important to be a seller than a grower. I remember in SoCal I was making bank just from deliveries alone. And that was before their big legalization, so I can only imagine how much money is possible in that aspect if you work with reputable growers. Someone could open up a straight online delivery store, break up the city and boroughs, have about 10 or so delivery guys and have product ready to go.
Partnering up would also be a smart idea, but I wonder how long that would fly before the state starts acting up.
I mean, if retailers and growers need separate licensing then it will always lead to the two teaming up together to sell the product.
Growers will be more common up north. There's more space to do so, property prices and taxes are lower, and there just isn't space the further south you go. I think you could do better as a retailer up north if you had a good location for a retail shop that could service a few areas/towns and were able to establish a reputation and stock first. You just need to make sure you get that set up, otherwise you'll end up like the 4 vape shops within 15-20 minutes of me. Competing for the same clientele and likely making less than you should be.
Side note, I still haven't found a guy near me. Very sad.
Low THC or not, the sativa strains that I like for edibles definitely do not lock me to my couch. In the right environment (for me, at a club with a good DJ), it even feels like a roll. Shit is amazing. I save so much money that used to be spent on alcohol - now it's $2-5 for a 10mg hit of gummy or cookie and I'm super blazed for the night.
Edibles in general are pretty freaking incredible.
