MLB to remove marijuana from it's banned substances in 2020 and will focus more on opioids.

The policy, which comes into effect in 2020, says players found to have taken natural cannabinoids will be treated the same as alcohol-related issues.

All samples will now also be tested for opioids, fentanyl, cocaine and synthetic THC.

Players who test positive for these substances will be referred for treatment before possible discipline.

Online ordering is being allowed for recreational during the lockdown.

It’s one of several signs emerging from the virus outbreak of just how far ingrained marijuana has become in mainstream life in several states. Dispensaries are being designated “critical businesses” and are allowed to operate through statewide stay-at-home orders. Large markets such as California, Washington state and Oregon are allowing curbside pickup during the crisis.

Now under Colorado’s emergency rules, customers can pay for marijuana online and then pick up their purchase at the store.

“We have an opportunity to prove that cannabis businesses can run these operations and do so effectively under extremely dire circumstances,” said Morgan Fox, a spokesman for the Denver-based National Cannabis Industry Association.

Massachusetts, Michigan, Illinois and Oregon also allow online recreational marijuana sales.

Seems kinda wild that a smoked drug that harms lung function is being considered necessary in a respiratory pandemic.

meanwhile psychedelics, with their promising studies that show great potential for treating and even curing depression, being more effective than other treatments at treating some forms of addiction, all while being physically non-addictive and having almost no side effects (barring nausea and being risky if you have a family/personal history of psychosis... you know, obviously not a good idea to throw gas on a fire)... is still a scheduled 1 drug.

at a time when america has a mental health crisis and is now in a national lockdown, further exacerbating the problem with social isolation for a social species.

    go figure.

well, not like the US has ever made any sense.

MA isn't selling recreational currently, which I guess makes sense.

At the same time, if you're not sick, and you're adhering to the stay at home orders, etc. I don;t see why you couldn't enjoy yourself. I've been hitting my pen at least once every evening. I've also got bud left.

Arizona expected to vote yes to legalize recreational weed. South Dakota is also narrowly leaning to a yes vote.

I read earlier today that the US is reaching its limits of legalizing weed in states that allow for ballot proposals, so the remainders will require legislative level changes.

Oregon just legalized psylocybin for treatment. I am beyond elated. This gives me the first real ray of hope for Anxiety/Depression/PTSD i've had in years.

edit: also passed a law allowing small amounts of heroin, meth, without fear of arrest.

Wondering how many Texan blue emigrants have watered down their origin states? I guess once the consensus comes out we will be balanced again.

I am so goddamn furious that NC is stuck in the fucking stone age. My body gets wrecked every month (insert jokes here) while I go through withdrawal waiting for my insurance to approve my fucking MORPHINE (because THAT'S just fine). If I had the resources to move literally anywhere else I would, but that's the shitty part of being a disabled dependent I guess. Fuck this state.

Sorry, I'm just really stressed right now and needed to vent.

Honestly none of that should be criminal. Selling it to kids? Yea, fuck you. But addicts are sick, not criminal.

Exactly. The "war on drugs" really messed with people's perspectives on the issue. I forget which, but some of the EU countries treat them this way and see much better results than we do.

NC looking at decriminalization of possession of up to 1.5ozs.

We're finally getting on track here.
