Dane County, Wisconsin (Madison) just decriminalized up to an ounce, and the penalty for more is $1 lol (unless there's "intent to distribute")

I'm wondering if anyone here has experience with their state's recreational weed rollout. Michigan voted to legalize in 2018 and just started to open shops right as the pandemic was shitting everything up. All the locations have to get community input and approval while local governments can also "opt out" of participating, meaning all the places full of conservative NIMBYs will have no shops initially. There's about three places that have opened up but they always place them in like dumpy industrial park areas because marijuana is still seen as such a scary, dangerous drug they have to keep it far away from schools and churches. Since no one can actually go into the shops in the lockdown you have to order online, then wait in a line of cars. After Biden was announced the election winner there was a line of like 20 cars. Have to pay in cash and someone with a tablet meets you at your car with a sealed little posh looking paper bag. Obviously they have security guards stationed for that same reason.
Not sure if you are asking a question, but i have experienced the rollout here in MI. Shit, one of the shops i go to is about a 5 min drive. Before COVID you just went in and handed your DL and waited in a room until they were ready for you. You could then go into another room and pick what you want.
Now you have three choices.
1. Like you said, drive up and wait in line (Normally no longer than a 5 min wait), they hand you their list of things and you pick. they then go in and get your stuff.
2. Order online, go to the site and tell them who you are and they go get your stuff. If you do it this way, there is a "Speedy checkout" type line at the one i go to.
3. Order online, and have them bring it to your home. Free shipping if you order over 120 bucks.
Oregonian here. Kind of the same rollout, they've been doing not quite curbside but at the door since you can't sell too far from the building.
Though on the other hand at this point we can have it delivered lol. Nothing like pizza and weed delivered on a Saturday night.
same
Mitch ain't gonna let that see the light of day.

The MN House Commerce Finance and Policy Committee has passed a measure to present recreational legalization in the MN congress. Republicans, backed by the Minnesota Catholic Conference, have vowed to oppose the bill.
Decriminalization efforts will be decided later on.House Majority Leader Ryan Winkler, DFL-Golden Valley, said the goal of his bill is to create a safe and legal marketplace for adults to use cannabis.
“From a health perspective, from a racial equity perspective, from a criminal justice reform perspective, from just being able to do a better job of regulating a product that can be used responsibly, it’s time for Minnesota to change its cannabis laws,” Winkler said.
The bill sets up a regulatory framework for adult use cannabis and establishes taxes. A new Cannabis Management Board would be created to oversee recreational use as well as the state’s existing medical marijuana program.
Ryan Hamilton, of the Minnesota Catholic Conference, was among those who spoke against the bill.
“It’s a bad bill for adolescents, it’s bad for our brothers and sisters with substance abuse problems, it’s bad for those who use our highways, and it’s bad for the common good,” Hamilton said.
Gov. Tim Walz supports the effort. But the bill faces several hurdles, including strong opposition in the Senate. Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, R-East Gull Lake, has repeatedly said he does not support legalization.
NJ decriminalization bill signed, recreational marijuana is legalized. Up to 6 oz I believe. Also a bunch of stuff to punish officers who try and use smell as probable cause. Gonna be probably a year till you can buy it somewhere but it's finally moving along.
Great timing too, I leave my DOT federally regulated job in May and will never work for this type of system again.

6 ounces damn nice
our 1 oz transaction limit is a bit annoying for this iteration of regs but i think they'll bump it back up eventually after future reconsideration
Y'all really going thru an ounce that fast? Lol

Jesus. I make my own gummy bears out of it and 1/4 lasts a full month and I partake almost every night. Plus I can “resteep” the grounds in more coconut oil to essentially get a second yield.
