    flu/cold

How can you tell if you're cold or flu before it fully takes over? My nose has recently become congested and I'm not sure which one I'm catching. Either way, I would like to get rid of it ASAP.

How do you get rid of head congestion?

If you get sick you should just remove yourself from the gene pool and kill yourself.

take a shower, eat wasabi to clear congestion, and ask your doctor to calli n some amoxyicilin before it gets rough. i unfortunately WOKE UP last thursday with a sinus infection and i'm not completely over it yet. was fucking miserable all weekend though.

if you're too much of a pussy to eat wasabi a neti pot is fine too.

You need Zinc, it disrupts the cold's ability to reproduce, there a lot of over the counter options that contain Zinc. Look into it.

    1) Take congestion medication, because it's likely sinus-related.
    2) Most people will say Theraflu or Coldeeze. I'll tell you time, rest, fluids, and plenty of vitamin C and/or Zinc.

Now, as for telling whether or not it's a cold or the flu. You don't have a fever with a cold. You get a pretty noticeable temperature with the flu. Most of the time you don't cough with the flu (but you can) and unlike the cold you will feel weak, sometimes nauseous, and have rather severe headaches and pains.

With a cold, you pretty much get a runny nose, warmth, congestion, and sometimes minor headaches.

I'm a superstitious believer in the power of chamomile tea and soup. They've always righted my viruses away (well, at least made me forget about them until my body got rid of it). You have to remember that with viruses the only thing you can do when there's no vaccine involved is give your body the necessary tools to fight it by taking in as many nutrients and electrolytes as you can (but don't overdo it). The flu is a little harder because it hits a lot harder than a cold does and affects more systems.

You also have to consider that it could be sinusitis and neither a cold nor the flu. You'll know because you'll have severe headaches or pains without a fever and you'll constantly drain into your throat without coughs (involuntary ones, that is).

Anything that "works" for a cold is almost certainly placebo + confirmation bias.

If you do nothing, the cold will be gone in about 7-10 days. If you take medicine, it'll be gone in a week to a week and a half.

What do you think Coldeeze is?

    Spoiler: show
    It's Zinc Gluconate

Am I the only one who thinks that asking on forums about the most pathetic disease that exists is rather sad?

I've never had the flu in my life. Does that make me genetically desirable?

Vitamin C will help if your cold was caused by scurvy.

Vitamin C has no known benefits to preventing a cold from developing, but has been known to reduce the duration. Next.

    Zinc gluconate
Or you could just skip taking Coldeeze and just take a zinc pill.

Those neti pots scare me. I heard someone died from a bacteria that was in the water and it got in their nose and ate their face. I'm drinking alka-setzer and snorting Nose spray.

I took that zicam, it made me feel great and the cold symptons went away in half a week.

Alternatively, I guess zinc pills could have done the same, idk if the spray had any extra stuff to help. Also, take an allergy pill, the anti histamine helps with the runny nose from my experiences. I use zyrtec-D or however you spell it.
