    index card printing

Tired of writing up all these flash cards, just wrote over 100 by hand for my latest test.

Considering I can copy/paste on the computer (and type 70 wpm in cases that I cannot), it'd be much better if I were able to print questions/answers on index cards (double sided) than spending half of my allotted study time just getting them on the cards in the first place.

I don't have too much printer experience, anyone know how to or have a tutorial on this?

Change the paper size in OpenOffice/Word to 3x5 then put index cards in your printer?

Making an index card in Microsoft Word

    1. Open a blank MS Word document. Go to the Page Layout tab on the ribbon.
    2. On the Page Setup panel click on Size and scroll down the paper sizes given. If you get a size close to your desired number select that. If not then click on More Paper Sizes“¦and go to the Page Setup box which opens up. On the tab marked Paper select Custom from the Paper Size drop down and enter your figures for width and height. Click OK to set the dimensions.

    3. The Word document is now setup with your custom dimensions. Flip the orientation between Portrait and Landscape if you wish (Page Layout ““ Orientation).

    4. Your first blank index card is ready. Now you can fill it with any information you desire. From clipart to charts or just normal text ““ format the look as you would do for a normal word document.
    5. Press enter or do a page break to open the second page or the index card with the same dimensions. Create as many index cards as you wish.
    6. Save your custom index card dimensions as a template for one click reuse later. Preferably save it as a .dot (Word 97- 2003) file for compatibility with older systems.
    7. You can do a Manual Duplex in the Print configuration box to print on both sides of the index card. A bit to save the environment.

Half of the value of the cards is writing them by hand yourself.

Nah, when you're making 50-60 cards with 3-6 diff kinds of questions each, by the time you get back to the first card you don't remember that shit lol.

What helps the most is putting them in piles of 5 cards, going through them till I know all 5 np. Then I do the same to another stack. Add it to the first, repeat till all the cards are in my stack (though if I have that many cards, I'll make category A and B, with 25-30 cards each, do the whole process for both, then add A and B together). On top of that, I have very shit handwriting and I have to cut the info short to fit it sometimes with handwriting but not with printing

    Edit:

Can only get the printer to recognize the index card if I put it in longways then it prints in the wrong direction. If I put it the way I want it to print, it's too short lengthwise to be recognized and it says there's no paper
