Persona 2 Eternal Punishment Coming to PSP

The second part of the Persona 2 saga will be released to PSP, Famitsu reveals this week. The magazine has a first look at Persona 2 Eternal Punishment, the followup to Persona 2 Innocent Sin. Following a remake of Innocent Sin, released in April of last year, Atlus will release the PSP remake of Eternal Punishment on May 17.

The PSP version will include new scenarios, improved load times, a new opening animation from Mad House, and the choice of original and refined background music. Shouji Meguro is directing the game. The new scenarios are from Tadashi Satomi, the original's scenario writer.

Awesome news, even though I just ordered the PS1 version recently, this is very welcome, loved the PSP version of IS.

Is that release date for Japan? I assume so, but the article doesn't say anything. Er, well, I guess it does by mentioning Famitsu. Wonder when it's gonna get released here.

I'm pretty damn sure it will get released here, though. Atlus and all. They're pretty cool guys.

Atlus USA has pretty much established that they support anything SMT nowadays, even a rerelease of a game on 3DS as I recall, the chances of EP on PSP.. are looking pretty good. If not it's possible they might release the original PSX game on PSN. I'll just make note here that EP is a bitch of a harder game than IS.. especially the fights with the things opposite of the Longinus 13.. I remember dying after 1 hr and a half of a boss battle with them ; ;

I fucking love how everything is reflected in this entire new world, especially the guy who replaces Hitler. Those that played the 1st game are in for a special surprise.

There's no question it'll come out in North America, but Atlus USA doesn't announce anything until they have media to show people, so it will be quiet for a while at least. Expect it by November if not sooner since they'll still have the same localization pipeline in place they built up for Innocent Sin.

They probably will. Let's hope that they don't shortchange north america again and give Europe all the glorious goodies
