I have not really played a Sim City game since the SNES one. I tried Sim City 2000 but never really got into it.
This looks really good.

Why is this not out yet? I need this. :<
I liked ArchDaily's review with its architectural perspective on sustainable design -
The New SimCity: A Beacon for Sustainable Design
In the words of Fast Company reviewer Ariel Schwartz, the newest version ”retains most of the game’s previous elements (including its addictive quality) while bringing a whole new level of complexity to the tilt-shift inspired world. You might not even notice how Maxis is subtly teaching you about the pros and cons of renewable energy, preserving natural resources, and cooperating with neighboring cities. But it is.”And while pollution may be the most obvious consequences of poor resource management, there are less visceral ones as well. As one of the software engineers at Maxis, Dan Moskowitz, wrote: ”overdependence [on one energy resource] may imperil those that don’t eventually diversify their energy supply. If you’ve built up an entire city on the economic basis of extracting a certain resource, when that resource runs out your economy will collapse.”Super excited, especially as someone going into urban design. Love how SimCity is using a video game to express an important message such as this. However, the truly fascinating thing about the new SimCity is that sustainable design essentially becomes the only feasible way to build a healthy, prosperous city. In a recent online forum, the creative director of SimCity, Ocean Quigley, noted: “I don’t want to enforce sustainable design principles in the game — I want them to emerge as natural consequences of your interaction with the simulation. [...] If you don’t deal with your sewage, with traffic congestion, with walkability and transit, with ground and air pollution — your city will reflect that!”
Looks awesome but online required?

http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/24/simcity-release-date/Electronic Arts announced this morning that SimCity will receive UK building permits on March 8, 2013. This is a slight delay from the February launch window the publisher had been promoting since this summer.
We've reached out to EA's North American PR to confirm whether the city builder got caught up in bureaucratic licensing and union issues on this side of the Atlantic as well. We'll update as soon as we receive a response.
Update: The official SimCity Twitter account notes a North American launch date of March 5, 2013.

UK building permits and union issues? I'm confused.
Damn I am looking forward to March...
I'm not sure who the hell names their child Ocean, but he has a pretty boss mustache.
Ocean reminds me of this dude that walks around in the nude preaching about free love.
Want. Want want want want want want.
Fucking hell. I need to get a new god damn computer already.
Also that guy had some fucking majestic facial hair. I was hypnotized by it. So well groomed.
