What do you mean by "threw back." Does the sewage treatment plant dump the water back into the ground?
Also, what are people finding as an effective way of combating traffic? I have two regional bus terminal and a street car station, but it still doesn't seem to be enough.
I feel like I don't have the space to have all the buildings I need for maintaining the city AND having enough moneymaking buildings to pay for them.
Yep, if you don't filter it it'll be dirty water otherwise it'll be clean water dumped into the ground.
Build your road system by thinking that everyone use these stupid tomtom from a few years back that always tried to use the most direct line to get to destination even if it's a dirt road vs a highway. Usually you'll want big ass roads between residential, industrial and commercial while making sure people can't use shortcuts on smaller roads. Oh yeah and too many intersections = bad.
This game really want you to build multiple cities. Most maintenance buildings can be shared/unlocked for the whole region and try to specialize.

I know I've seen someone pump oil out of the same ground for one or two days straight with no changes to the amount left.
I don't think the oil map changes to reflect the current amount of oil. On my present city, I got reduced down to about 10% of the oil production compared to when I started, so I just bulldozed the well. And yeah, the water system is annoying as depending on your neighbors, it can be very difficult to maintain a large city.
So I don't own any of the free games being given away, what do?
I have Mass Effect 2, but haven't beaten it, but a free 3 would be nice, but isn't Battlefield good as far as value?
Anyone having issues with trying to export stuff but it stays in your warehouse all day long? I've searched a few forums and seen other people with the issue but no clear way on what the best approach is to fix it (or if it's a bug maybe?). Basically, I'll have 60 tons of alloy sitting in my warehouse and maybe 10 will export that day. I've made sure I had easy access to the region connection from my warehouse, I've bulldozed the trucks and replaced them, I've turned the warehouse itself off and on to try and get it kick-started again but basically nothing is exporting as fast as I would like. Makes upgrading the Trade HQ and other HQ buildings almost impossible to upgrade -_-;.
My question is though, why aren't my trucks delivering? Is there something I'm missing? Like do they only do deliveries at certain times of day? Are there other conditions that need to be met to make sure my trucks do their job? My lots will be full and the trucks just sit in their garages (and I've used multiple trade depots in hopes to get the HQ upgrades, but the underlying issue is nothing is selling and there's loads to sell).
You don't mention what you're doing with your trade depots.
The priority on deliveries seem to be: local > import > export. Make sure you don't have mixed depots and that you destroyed that freight warehouse that always clogs your trucks.
Beside that I don't know but keep a close eye on that trade map.
Yeah I've got everything set to export. I think my trucks are getting caught in regional traffic now that I look closer at the trade map, though still not enough trucks are coming to get my stuff from my overflowing warehouses. Thanks for the tip on destroying the freight warehouse, didn't even think of that. Now I have 20 more tons of alloy sitting there doing nothing XD.
I may be mistaken, but I think delivery trucks that you place at trade depots are only used within your city. I you need to deliver oil to the oil power plant of the fuel refinery. Thus all of the trucks involved with importing/exporting are outside of your control.
if you put a water pump with nothing but purifiers next to sewage treatment its infinite water. (bulldoze the pump that comes on it replace with purifier) For traffic i put in alot of park and rides which help out alot all over town to get cars off the road. Also if you put a small section of dirt road onto the main road, you'll want then bulldoze the little piece of dirt road that sticks out, it makes turnarounds without traffic lights that helps traffic. (downside is tiny section you can't zone on the small side the dirt road stuck out on)
Read this shit if you fail at traffic: http://www.simcity.com/en_US/blog/ar...mcitys-traffic
Just as a heads up for anyone who hasn't bought the game, but still wants it. Amazon is doing an Easter sale and I guess SimsCity is $40.

Probably more like amazon trying to push their millions of copies collecting dust.
