well, im never buying this half game half commercial that is inherently broken and is only going to keep getting worse as they blatantly ignore the immense amount of technical problems with how the game works in favor of releasing "content" that is really just advertising to shove even more money in their pockets.

I'd be raging right now if I paid for this game. I'm almost happy they did this though as now there is no part of my brain that still says "you should buy this"

Its been a very good "nail in the coffin" game, that's for sure. No chance of any future Madden, Battlefield, or any other "major" EA title for a very long time after this fiasco. Its abundantly clear where their eyes are at this point, and very clear as to what EA as a company thinks about its consumers.

You overestimate EA. Based on how much money they are getting for product placement you should expect to see it in Madden, Battlefield, ect. During timeouts in Madden your characters will start drinking Pepsi can's that give them +1 to their stats for the next 10 minutes.

That's fine by me at this point, because I won't be dealing with any of it. I did it with Activision post-D3 and have no regrets; I'll have no regrets this time around. By the time the next Sim City comes around, I'll be old enough to be too busy with family shit to have time to even have an urge to splurge on EA's factory-churned horseshit.

A patch that changes a lot of the dynamics of the game? Might as well give up on ever playing it.

Looks like just a ton of bug fixes with a small handfull of changes...and I'm being generous with that. Does that really deserve a 2.0 tag. Was expecting a game changer or something that would entice the wary into buying the game. Alas, I'm still waiting.

From what people have been stating about the AI, I don't think it can handle a massive city. Set three different spots on your city on fire. All of the fire response goes to one, letting the other two burn rather than sending some to each to keep them from spreading. With all the derpy pathing traffic and other resources have in SimCity 5, it'd just end up showing those flaws even worse with larger populations.

I figured with "2.0" that would be the major thing they concentrated on fixing, all the broken systems that probably use the same broken flow algorithm.

This game started off pretty low ... and I didn't think it had much further it could possibly fall. How wrong I was.
