Are you making fun of highly educated pseudo-intellectuals or country bunpkins that believe they know more than...say.. someone with a PHD? I believe wholeheartedly that a large portion of college students (and almost every self proclaimed "anon") really have no idea what the hell they are doing with themselves. They somehow believe that the act of going to college makes you more intelligent than what you actually learn in college. This could possibly be a byproduct of our American society, where your degree(s), your connections, and your graduating college are all that matter. We have come to assume that the more prestigious a college is, the better education experience you receive. Now that is true to a modest extent but I know many PHD's that have been to Harvard, Cambridge, and some Ivy League schools that can say that smaller schools have an equal, if almost better learning experience than the highly competitive top-tier universities since the professors have more time to deal with students. What makes this quote even more depressing is that even though I believe what this man is saying 100%, it doesn't matter because the coasting douche bags have almost a similar chance to acquire a job as the high achiever. I know there are plenty of minor exceptions to this so I wouldn't consider it a blanket theory but never mind me, I was just brain storming in the shower.
