So, if he's truely alone... who took that picture of him in that last shot?!?!?
He's carrying a camera on a tripod on his shoulder. What do you think?
Edit: Video in image thread, I know I know. But this is how the guy lives on a regular basis

Bear Grylls was in the British SAS. He was the youngest brit to ever climb everest. I"m not sure you can call him a pussy. His show is way more entertaining too, solo dude is so boring. Seems like a giant waste of time for him to set everything up himself when I don't give a shit, I just wanna watch something fun and informative, and I certainly don't doubt that Bear knows what he's talking about.
edit: Typing this quick reply took me probably 20mins....those tatas are just mesmerizing
Fun? Yes. Informative? No, unless you're looking for creative ways to get yourself killed.
That show would have been so much better if there was the constant threat of dynamite-throwing bears in each episode. Including the "making of" episodes.
Survivorman's advice is most certainly better for the average person in a survival situation, but tbh Bear's show is just outright better. Basic survival skills make for boring television and truly being alone makes for poor camera work (even if the guy is a true badass for doing it all himself). Might as well just buy a decent survival guidebook and actually prepare if you anticipate that type of situation.
Meanwhile, extremely niche, dangerous, and last ditch techniques like the stuff Bear does are actually entertaining (and despite popular opinion, oftentimes still informative). If he were being accurate, he would probably have to preface every piece of advice he gives with "Now only do this if it is your ABSOLUTE LAST DITCH OPTION for surviving, because not only is it probably going to be too unpleasant, uncomfortable, or outright difficult for you to pull off correctly, there are also most certainly better options that you will want to exhaust first." But I feel like that is kind of already implied by most of the situations he ends up in, and is usually explicitly stated when he does the really crazy examples.
Plus, I mean c'mon, look at this badass.
