Blarg's actually not trolling and correct here - if the practice was to pin-prick his finger and then suck the blood, would the mouth-on-finger contact be horrific and terrifying? It's like you're implying that the mouth is used for a reason other than to extract the blood from the wound. It's a medically dangerous practice (obviously given that it has killed kids) and personally I think it's pretty gross, but I'm not going to be like "omg he's sucking that kid's dick!" as if it has anything to do with the sexual act.

But those are two different arguments, right? One is moral and the other is medical.

#1 is emotional and I don't think legislating on emotion is a good idea. #2 I see the point, it would be good to know how much extra danger there is compared to a normal circumcision. if that danger wasn't too great then I don't think you can draw the line for safety reasons, and what if all it took to remove that risk was using a disinfectant afterwards. if the disinfectant removed that extra risk then you are stuck with #1 which I don't think is good enough to make a decision like this
