That was meant to be more of a dig at Goodell's speech in the beginning about whether or not there's a "direct correlation" between concussions and football. Of course there is, but people are actually wasting time and money researching what effect football has in relation to concussions. Just like there's an obvious direct correlation between being sarcastic and playing sarcastaball, but the doctor jokingly suggested that they dump a bunch of money into researching that correlation.
