That cannot be legit. No one could think that is a good idea. Could they?

Horrible =/
So its a watered down Iron Man. Great timing imo.
Both look good, except we're talking about robocop here that shit will not fly well.
The visuals actually make sense to me. A RoboCop envisioned today would be a great deal less bulky and more streamlined than what Miller envisioned twentysomething years ago; the possibilities for mechanics and cybernetics simply didn't exist then the way they do now.
But, as Boyiee said, anything envisioned for RoboCop simply comes too closely to Iron Man. If this movie isn't utterly brilliant in every other parameter, it will henceforth be likened as a watered-down Iron Man flick.
still looks like Crysis to me.
I'm okay with the suit as long as that's the only one and there's no transforming involved.
Why can't they make it look something like Adam Jensen from Deus Ex: HR with a helmet instead of shades or something? These look way too much like iron man.
http://geektyrant.com/news/2012/8/24...n-robocop.htmlIt's been reported that House star Hugh Laurie is no longer attached to play the villain in MGM's remake of Robocop, which is a shame. I really wanted to see him in the film. Deadline is reporting that MGM is talking to a small group of actors to replace Laurie in the film, one of those actors included is Clive Owen.
The movie will retell the origin story of Robocop, in which The Killing's Joel Kinnaman stars as the badass cop who is violently gunned down, and turned into robot crime fighter for justice. If Owen is cast he will play the villainous CEO of Omni Corp, who creates Robocop for his own gain.

He needs to still be a slow fker. Too fast and it'll ruin the whole thing.
http://geektyrant.com/news/2012/8/27...g-robocop.htmlElite Squad director Jose Padilha is about to start shooting the Robocop reboot for MGM. This is his first big Hollywood movie, and unfortunately it's been a terrible experience for him. So bad in fact that he never wants to do it again!
Director Fernando Meirelles (City of God; 360) is a friend of Padilha, and in a recent interview with the South American film site Cinemacom Rapadura, Meirelles said...
The reason these big studios bring in directors like Padilha is because they are relatively new directors that have proved they have talent. They can be hired on the cheap, and are also easily controlled by the studio. But apparently Padilha is fighting the studio for his version of the film, and it's a battle he seems to be losing. I'm way more interested in Padilha's vision for the story than the studio's, because most studio executives don't really know what makes a good story or what the audience wants.I talked to José Padilha for a week by phone. He will begin filming Robocop. He is saying that it is the worst experience. For every 10 ideas he has, 9 are cut. Whatever he wants, he has to fight. “This is hell here,” he told me. “The film will be good, but I never suffered so much and do not want to do it again.” He is bitter, but it’s a fighter.

http://geektyrant.com/news/2012/8/29...n-robocop.htmlHey Michael Keaton's back! He's just been cast as the villain in Jose Padilha's Robocop remake. He will replace Hugh Laurie who was previously in negotiations to join the film before they broke down. Clive Owen was also reportedly on the studio's short list for the role, but it looks like Keaton won out.
Keaton is a great actor that I think should be working more than he is. He's fun to watch up on screen, and can do comedy, drama and action. It's good to see him cast in a big movie. They couldn't have made a better choice, and I've been waiting for him to make a come back. Padilha had this to say in a statement,
Michael is the final addition to the amazing cast we have assembled for this film and it is so great to have the last puzzle piece in place. It is thrilling that everything has come together to bring this innovative new vision of RoboCop to life. We’ve got a great script, a great cast, some killer ED-209s and I can’t wait to get Alex Murphy back on the streets.

http://geektyrant.com/news/2012/9/5/...an-we-thi.htmlIt looks like someone else got their hands on the script for Jose Padilha's Robocop reboot. This time around we have a much more positive reaction to the script than the last thing we heard. Before we get into it you need to know that there are more details that contain major heavy Spoilers. I actually like this description of the story, it gives us a better sense of what's in store for us, and this sounds more like Padilha's style.
These latest details come from SHH user, Solidus, who says the movie is very similar to Neill Blomkamp's awesome sci-fi movie District 9. Robocop will start off being more human, but as time goes on he slowly begins to lose that humanity and ends up becoming more of a machine. The new details reveal the technology that will be built into Robocop, a clearer explanation of the whole transformer element, and then some intense story details.
Details on Robocop's technology:
Update on the Transformer aspect of Robocop:
He moves quick. At first as Robo 1.0 he is somewhat slow. But he does move fast, he can run up to 30MPH and catch bad guys pretty quick.
Other things, that I love is just the whole integration of wi-fi and how he is connected to everything. This is truly Robocop remade for the modern world, not the 80's.
I have said before I love the virtual evidence world he creates and re-creates a crime as it happens. I love how he is connected to every camera in the city and they are everywhere.
There is also a motorcycle that is made specifically for him, it sounds pretty cool, it connects to him in a way. So he mainly drives his Cruiser motorcycle thing.
Crazy big spoiler story details:
And people should not worry about the "Transformers" aspect, all that changes is the appearance of the texture of his armor and helmet, nothing more. He has a visor but it is more see through.
Yea the armor just changes to different textures/slight bulkiness. But it makes it sound like in the script in many scenes that it transforms very very quickly. No body changing or arms becoming something else kind of stuff.
He starts out more human, but OCP starts to mess with him and take away his emotions and he becomes very cold like the Robocop we know.
Spoiler: show

That actually sounds watchable.
