yeah basically the error is the game server or whatever recognizes the spec code as the LE code which included the maps, so if you try to access the dlc in game it checks and goes oh yep LE member, free map pack for you, or something to that effect

I just saw Halo 4 being advertised for $39.99. What the hell.
Pretty good holiday deal I'd say.
Been playing a lot of Oddball recently and nothing is more amusing then having the ball, going up against somebody who is just out of range, throwing the ball to them and then finishing them off because they're trying to figure out why they're not shooting anymore and then taking the ball back.
Good for some quick Campaign challenges.
I kind of just lost interest in this game. Idk why I was grinding levels anymore. Got to like 93 and now I'm just like, what's the point. The fact that the file share system doesn't even work yet is a joke.

Halo 4 Accounts Being Banned After Legitimately Downloading Crimson Map Pack, NeoGAF Thread Alleges
Halo 4 had some “issues” about a week ago when the Crimson Map Pack was released. The content itself could be downloaded by anyone (for free), contradicting previous plans to make the content only available to those who wither paid for the Season Pass or those who had purchased the Limited Edition.
Our very own Prinny from the podcast also tried to download the content (he has the Limited Edition) only to find himself unable to download it, while Microsoft Customer Service admits they are facing “difficulties.”
Earlier today, a thread on popular gaming forum NeoGAF was created. In it users are alleging that anyone who downloaded that Crimson Pack are now being immediately banned if they try to play the content. We have reached out to Microsoft for comment and will update this post as the story develops.
Well, guess I'm deleting the Map Pack when I get home. Demon's Souls saved my profile since I stopped playing Halo in favor of that.
The Infinity Challenges have started for War Games. I think there was a message for Spartan Ops as well, but I didn't get a chance to read the note.
Found this site about tracking your True Skill rank. Kind of nifty for anyone who's still interested since Waypoint isn't updated to include CSR (True Skill) yet.
Halo Tracker
It uses the Halo 2 icons, which is kind of neat.
so i havent kept up with this thread, but i just got this for christmas. only played the campaign so far, and im disappointed with the game. the campaign felt really short and the storyline was very 'meh' at best. the new mobs weapons were just rehashed versions of the covenant/human weapons so there was no unique feel to them. it may be that i havent played halo in so long, but the banshee controls felt awful too.
The banshee is total garbage in 4.
Aside from what seems like slower turning on all the vehicles, I don't see what the problem with the banshee is. Forerunner weapons all have unique properties, however you'll notice these more in online matchmaking than in campaign. I personally love the forerunner weapons, and I understand why they took the route they did for weapons, which are mostly balanced for matchmaking. I think they probably could have just had weapons in campaign that weren't available in matchmaking to satisfy both crowds but whatever.
Suppressor - Much wider spread than Assault Rifle/Storm Rifle
Boltshot - Holding the trigger causes it to overload and shoot a shotgun-like blast (extremely useful in matchmaking).
Light Rifle - Supposedly being zoomed in fires 3 round burst and non-zoom only fires 1 round but everything takes the same amount of ammo so I'm not sure what the point is to this one.
Binary Rifle - One-shots players regardless of where you hit them.
Scattershot - Wider spread than shotgun and bullets bounce, less effective at medium range than shotgun but deadly in tight areas (of which there are not enough sadly).
Incineration Cannon - What really needs to be said about this? It's fucking amazing. Rocket Launcher projectiles are faster and it holds more ammo per clip but you practically don't even have to aim with the Incineration Cannon.
As for the story, I quite enjoyed the campaign. I think it moved a bit fast and could have done with a few more levels to pace it better but at this point I'm glad they even decided to put a polished campaign in the damn game.
Would have liked to see a Forerunner melee weapon as well.
The Promethean's Hardlight blade could've been a weapon, but they weren't always one-shot kills, even in Legendary. As for the Banshee, it's a lot less agile than before, but its weapons are buffed up quite a bit. Its fuel bomb flies faster and the plasma cannon does a lot more damage than before. I think all the vehicles in general have a lot less durability due to the new weapon assortments and ordnances. Rockets might not kill right away on some things, but Incineration Cannon will fuck everything and their mothers up.
As for the campaign, I personally loved it. I think you need to be a fan of the Halo universe as a whole to appreciate it since there was a lot more integrated into the story; tie-ins with Forward Unto Dawn, Terminals, Books, etc. etc. Otherwise, it can be a little confusing.
Could you use fuel-rod gun in the banshee in MM in previous games? I can't remember, maybe it was just the fuel-rod cannon that was in virtually no playlist. Boltshot is one of those weapons where you can run around and get some ridiculous kills, but you probably, over time, get fewer kills/more deaths than if you were to just use your AR or Pistol. Also, for any one that hasn't used a boltshot, if you charge it up, it isn't like the plasma pistol in that you can let the charge go whenever; once it finishes charging it shoots its load, and you'd better hope your target was in front of it.
I think it was first included for Multi-Matchmaking in 3, otherwise it was limited to custom games iirc.
Anybody still play this? After getting my new 360 (thanks Xerodok!) I've been playing every once in a while. Rocked 2 overkills on a Swat game a couple days ago; one in 3 shots! Tag: Grandpa Alucard
I switched to blops 2. Idk why Halo 4 felt so fail to me but it did. Lack of Custom Games was the nail in the Coffin.
Episode 6*
Does anybody have issues with disconnecting from host in co-op campaign and spartan ops? Me and a friend have had to restart numerous spartan ops and campaign missions because the game just simply boots us (or one of us). My internet is pretty shit but 95% of the time neither of us are experiencing any lag when it happens.
