Sliders was the shit until they replaced the original chick. And brought in Jerry O'Connell's brother. That was a bit much.
Can't help but love Kerb's posts in these threads. Pity there are so many arachnaphobes here, I guess our new spider overlords will have some converting to do.
I thought the farm nightmare was Hershel's farm from Walking dead >.>
I'm a bit curious about the 'not killing each other' part as well. There are species of social spider (some in the US, located in Texas and other areas near it) but I didn't realize that wolf spiders were, or could act like, social spiders. Makes me shiver as an arachnophobe though....
Freaky fact about wolfs - their eyes are reflective, so if you shined a flashlight into that crap you'd get a lot of light reflection....
Not Safe for Certain Admins:
Spoiler: show
Juveniles rarely cannibalize, in most species, and they have a very slow metabolism. They can only "balloon" for 1, maybe 2 instars, before they're too heavy, so you're dealing with mostly babies. They'll start eating each other once they run out of other prey.
How do we not have a Ragns thread icon?
Ahh Wagga. The best thing to come out of there are spiders and bogans.
I'm guessing a bogan is some sort of mythical hound-beast with foot-long claws and a snake for a tail, based on the way that place looks.
That's some amazing web work in those pictures, and the last pic is misleading (I assume those are wolf spiders?), those shits do not look tiny at all.
They're actually quite tiny. That photo blew them up a lot. We call them "money spiders", and they usually are maybe maximum size of a half pinky fingernail.
As for bogans, they're like rednecks but Australian. They usually have Holden or Ford V8 cars instead of guns.
if those spiders are half the size of a pinky fingernail then they are crawling on the worlds tiniest fucking branches.
yeah, they're the twigs at the very tips of the trees![]()
I clicked on that link and immediately closed it down when I read the headline Hyper Intelligent Spiders. No thanks.
