So, I've been doing a persuasive unit with my students and I am going to be teaching a propaganda lesson tomorrow. I had everything all set to go with using magazine ads, but didn't have the ads (yes I'm a slacker, I know, some crazy AVID demonstration events were happening this week so I got behind).
Anyways, I went to the grocery store to try to get some magazines that would have ads that fit the criteria I was looking for and gave up after having to spend forever sifting through Justin Bieber pictures to find ads geared towards their age group (8th graders). I figured I'd go online and d/l them instead, which sucks because that means they'll end up in black and white, but beggers can't be choosers.
I figured I'd see if anyone knows some interesting ads that would work with this.
Here are the categories I am focusing on. Ideally, I'll have at least two ads per term (ads can fall under multiple ones). I have some already that I'll link, but feel free to add more to the list as they might be better, or I can use them as a backup.
Terms:
Bandwagon
Testimonial
Name-calling
glittering generalization (ie. positive generalizations)
transfer
fear
What I've got so far (note: again some of these might fall into two+ places, I just want to make sure I have at least two of each so threw them into one category):

I'd like to use this one, does anyone know where I can find it in a larger size? I don't think the words will come out well.

would rather not have too many make-up ones for the poor boys in the class.

name-calling:
Oddly enough I am having a lot of difficulty with this one. I wanted to use some recent campaign ads, and I figured that would be super easy, but when I search online I'm mostly getting scans from commercials rather than an actual ad.
[edit] love this one for name-calling, so small though ;_;

Posting this before I lose all these links, I'll keep adding to OP as I find shit.
I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks~![]()
