That is definitely true. While I appreciate denominations for their ability to unite people toward specific goals, I often get frustrated at how much tradition plays a part in the answers people of one denomination gives or another. The differences seem to have somewhat cooled over the last half-century, and the focus seems to be trending more toward a simpler message with the esoterica left for intra-Church discussion rather than paraded about as the reason X denomination is stupid/inferior/whatever. For me, personally, the question of, "Is your community a better place for you being there?" is of far more importance than, "Do you believe in predestination?" That applies both for the individual, and a church, and any denominations. I'm much more concerned with whether they are feeding the poor, housing the homeless, educating the destitute (primarily secular subjects necessary for success; religious education on request), and otherwise improving the lives of others. That seems, to me, far more Jesus' message than "make sure your theology is better than someone else!" Granted, I think that understanding the Bible is essential to a Christian life, but mostly for me better understanding the expectations God has of me, not for my ability to dismiss, insult or demean others.

I was going to respond to his initial post, read it, saw it was shit, decided to watch other people waste their time instead. I don't have time to discuss things with people who argue with scriptural evidence.

Also, I have no interest in learning about christianity, I have spent the better part of the last twenty years trying to unlearn it, and its working slowly. The other day there was a bible category on jeopardy and I knew all the answers and that made me sad
