Why would anyone would play a mmorpg that was releasing after the year 2012 that has extremely shitty graphics, art style, character models, animations, zone environments and other art assets is beyond me. Game companies think they can get away with using a game engine that's over 10 years old and hiring art developers that don't possess any artistic qualities or any skill whatsoever and save very huge amounts of money in the development process so they can turn a bigger profit. I understand the whole argument of gameplay is more important but you can't disregard the fact that a 10 year old mmorpg (FFXI) has much better art assets than ESO.

Alright so I know how much people seem to hate ESO right now but i'm someone who thinks FFXI pre abyssea was the best mmorpg i've ever played. That game had its flaws but it had meaningful progression, diverse content and I enjoyed accomplishing goals. I hate all of the WoW clones / WoW framework copies with a passion and I think it's retarded that you can level up in the blink of an eye and get the best gear in the game without a whole lot of effort. Gear is handed out to everyone and their moms on a sweet honeyed carrot stick and I don't like it so as much as people hate ESO i'm going to give it a real chance because if there's a small chance of hope that it will have actual grind and meaningful progression then I would like to experience it. Call me a masochist but I want a game with grueling grinds but without these progression elements where nothing is handed to you on a silver platter then there is absolutely no meaning whatsoever so this might be the reason why I want to give Elder Scrolls Online a serious chance.
