I see what you're saying, but do you think he would have acted the same way ( tailed the kid and drew his gun ) if the kid was white? Even with a hoodie on? I'm pretty sure that even if he wasn't being racist, he was still stereotyping a black kid in his neighborhood that he didn't recognize following a 'string of break-ins'. Where the line crossed from a stereotype sent towards a black kid in a hoodie at 7PM to a racially motivated crime lies in the details of how this kid ended up dead.

Whether or not he was stereotyping/racist is all speculation and will be up to the prosecution to prove, provided they choose to go that route.
