So about the trayvon thing, prosecutors ended their rebuttal about 15 minutes ago, took a break and judge is giving instructions now.

Trolling or not, it's a fair point. Prosecutorial misconduct is a real and serious problem. I still don't understand how it's legal to try and convict someone of crime A, but allow jurors the option of crimes B, C, and D as fallbacks if the prosecution fails to make a case for crime A. I would put money that a statistical analysis of verdicts in cases where lesser crimes were allowed would show far more guilty verdicts for the lesser crimes than the ones being sought by prosecutors (in other words, jurors are willing to make a "compromise" for justice, which is itself an injustice).

long story short the way the judge just described it is that it's murder 2 if he intended to kill, manslaughter if he didn't, and neither if it was justified
