But... the person was alive? I had their blood. It was in my possession, the cells were alive. If the person had AIDS, I could have transferred that disease to myself by accidentally sticking myself with the syringe. Or hepatitis, or any disease or virus. In my possession were living, functioning cells from a dead person. The last living cells, really.

And I came to a realization. THAT'S what we are. We are remnants from a larger host, we are the living cells. Our innate desire to build, to create technology, is just a desire to recreate the thing that we came from. Our need to build a supercomputer capable of gazillions of calculations per second is only our attempt to recreate the brain of our original form. Our desire to repopulate other planets is only a representation of our desire to create a larger "being", if you will, capable of communication and cooperation across the space that exists between the planets, in the same sense that space exists between the cells of our body, as they work together across that space to FORM the body. The space in between God's finger and our own on the sistine chapel, is the space between the moment of our separation from our original form and where we are today. The formation of churches, social networks, corporate structures, is only our natural desire to create organs out of cells. Our big bang, was only a blood being drawn, of which we were the cells.
