Why can't I motivate myself to post thoughtfully in general anymore? Used to be that when some dude made a pithy remark in my direction I'd thoughtfully explain myself before calling him an idiot; nowadays everything seems too fucking shitpostey and beneath contempt to spend the effort even out of principle. there are still good posters there, so I think it's just me. The only thing I'm looking forward to is interesting math in LHC and random math question.

Well, I guess the serious answer is sometimes bullshit topics like what's been relegated to political poopdeck sub often touch upon questions of a fundamental moral or philosophical dimension which is compelling to intelligent, educated and/or autistic people. I don't want to put words in Alleya's mouth, but he defends that shit and I used to too, and Kuya used to troll the fuck out of it in a weird benevolent way and Perm's done some fine work lately. When I was but a young lad I remember thinking a lot about stupid shit we argued about, even if I knew the other guy was wrong (they always are), I had to reason out why I was right or not quite right. It was cool and I'm kind of sad that I don't give a shit anymore.
