Anyone do Mjollnir kill shot trials in abyssea yet or have a good idea which atmas would be optimal for them? I'm thinking I should probably just be using normal DD atmas like RR/SS/AoA just for speed in whittling the mobs down faster but I'm open to suggestions. AoA can be mildly annoying hitting a triple attack at the wrong time but I thought it helped more than it hindered doing my last set of relic trials. I will be dual-boxing a BRD/WHM so I don't need MP atmas. Thanks ahead of time for any input.

Though augmented AF2+2 feet do give a bonus to Stormsurge, for up to +12 on stats instead of +7.

Totally forgot it! I guess that's what makes them a better choice overall, then. I think one can live with 3% more recast, specially because there are very few spells that are worth finishing casting in recast gear, anyway.

Wyrm Armet and Wyrm feet are shoe-ins so long as you use healing breath (solo or just randomly via restoring breath). Wyrm Mail is great for 2 hour zerg-type situations, especially since spirit surge is powerful. I'd suggest you take a second look at the gloves. They over an additional 5% defense reduction with angon, which is all I really need to say.

You can stagger with AoE weaponskills, but they lowered the rate quite a bit. Apparently it is pretty rare to do now.

Ruinator is actually pretty damn good; it is generally better than Rampage, so that is saying something.

Deleted ones I wouldn't upgrade. Honestly, it depends on what you play. If you're going to take the time to agument it and it has a use, there's no reason not to. If it's so-so and you don't want to spend the inventory space on having it sit there, don't. :s

Thanks, I have all 99s and I'm just looking into what I would need to upgrade/augment for buying and inventory purposes. I'll need someone else to cover BST stuff, but DRG is my main, so that was just there for completion.

I thoroughly disagree with this. Cleric's Pantaloons +2 are a significant upgrade, and are a must-have item for anyone who is serious about WHM. You get 5 extra resist on barspells PLUS the most enhancing magic skill available for the leg slot to increase the spells further. And you get the bonus of an awesome Shellra V augment.

I'll do the +2 legs so that I can get the enhancing magic skill (My other plan in making that post was to get people to point out pieces good for stats beyond "Augments X", so this post has helped point out that the enhancing magic).

If you have both the Kalasiris set and an Anhur robe, Argute gown offers nothing even augmented (assuming you don't need enlightenment for 500 skill). Argute loafers are too situational to use at +0/+1. If upgraded to +2, the fast cast +5% makes them slightly better than scholar's for casting, but worse for recast, as the grimoire boost of the AF1 ones isn't halved for recast like the FC on Argute does.

I was mainly going for the Enlightenment + Anhur trick, but I think you're right and I'll save inventory on that. I will pick up the feet for that sweet FC though.

The empyrean set bonus occasionally negates damage of the element of the barspell, the Relic armor makes the barspell noticeably more powerful. With the straight increase of 25 to the spell potency and the 18 enhancing magic with an average boost of 4.5 (only goes up in whole numbers, so will depend on your skill), your barspells will increase by 29 to 30. So while you won't negate as often, you get the benefit of having a better effect when it doesn't negate.

Log into Account Management. Near the bottom in the left menu is Select Service. Select your FFXI account.
There's a button that says Cancel Service. It warns you that all your options will cancel with it. Say yes.

Account should continue to run until the end of the billing cycle but not positive.

It is better than 90 Twashtar, but worse than 95. It is about as good as a 90 Mandau and worse than a 95. It is worse than a 99 STR Thokcha. I think Pulse weapons in general were designed to be slightly better than a level 90 Empyrean/Relic and slightly worse than a level 95 version. This is also true for Aytanri, Delphinius, etc.

You can think about it like this:
* If you have a level 90 Empyrean, you haven't actually done that much work yet. Thus, pulse weapon is still better. If you put in a pulse-weapon worth of work, it gets to 95 and surpasses the pulse weapon.
* There's no reason to stop a relic at level 90, so you've already done a lot of work but it's better than a pulse weapon when you complete the now-trivial quests between 75 and 95.

I have a primary healer in dynamis, so to avoid congestion, I farm mobs during WS window. I round up 5 mobs, use AE, I normally proc 4 of the 5 before I melee them all to death.

edit: To be clear, yes, an AoE WS can proc multiple mobs, no it isn't common, maybe 5-10%.

Ruinator is really strong, only downside is that it's an axe WS and axes still suck. Shun is okay, generally best non-emp katana weaponskill but does have an attack penalty. Last Stand is the best /ra ws at present.

I don't think it's really fair to say that axes suck. Ruinator is a better WS than Blade: Shun, for instance (attack bonus instead of penalty, more fTP, STR mod instead of DEX), but the jobs that can use them are the real problem.

Thank you for the response. I've been trying to level Synergy but it's been going very slow and I don't really want the bother of it just for haidate. I'd rather just get some Ambusher's Hose for when I get around to doing Kannagi and unlocking dagger WS.
