Kinda forgot about this BCNM since I had never gotten anything from it. But I'm in a similar situation with tons of seals. Soloable by a SCH/RDM with pretty much just elemental staves? Most of my SCH gear is 75+ and I don't feel like changing/making an XML for it so it would be done with synced gear. I'm assuming Kaustra just wrecks him?

Good question, not really sure. I generally dual boxed it with 2x rdm.

I just did it. Hardly any of my gear probably did a damn thing since it's all high level. Went in with my normal macros and XML. Kaustra x2 took it down to 25% easily. Then a few helices and some drains and it was dead, I didn't even bother nuking. I'm sure it's possible without the use of 2hr as well, I just used it to test the waters.

Not sure if this sort of question is allowed, but I still use the official windower(Yeah yeah I know you don't have to tell me) and I recently installed FFXI on a new computer and I can't seem to get the settings like they are on my laptop. I think I edited something so as the graphic quality increased and the mouse cursor was something less retarded. Does anyone know if there are any quick fixes to make it look better? I can't remember what I did to fix it.

What Yugl said will give you the option of setting a higher resolution. I think what you're looking for is XiView which can be found via a quick google search. Be sure to get the 2.X version... whatever one is from around 6-13-2012.

The paypal one goes through, says "thanks for paying" or whatever and then gives me a "payment not accepted" error on SEs end. In paypal, it still lists the transaction as one paid and refunded.

SE's payment processor is internally denying your request for payment, but they're going to insist your billing information is wrong if you call them. It might be some extension of this:

For the record, I still can't use my credit card to pay. If the fraudulence points decay, they do so really slowly.

I've just tried the second time, with different amount. Still got the same error. Now I'm going to try with the direct payment, but how exactly do you do that? I can't seem to find the option anywhere. (Other than click and buy)

Register/Update Payment Method -> Next -> Credit/Debit Card (select type) -> Next -> input details etc.

Make sure noscript is turned off before you do this.

I probably built up like a million "fraudulence points" based off that info. The SE customer service really isn't much help at all, either they're too lazy to look things up or they are not provided any sort of information required in order to be able to help vs complaints like this.

I ended up needing to buy store credit on Playspan for Ultimate Game Cards. I think that's the only 100% foolproof way of getting stuff to work.

Naw, Playspan rejected my credit card as well for a while. I ended up buying UltimateGameCards at the supermarket via my supermarket loyalty card / CC (1% and 2% back, fux yes!) and using those to pay for FFXI.

I have 3 chars with thief leveled, one better geared than the other two, the other two both have dnc, whm (no TH sash on any char, LTP hates me), rdm leveled. My linen drop rate from bosses seems to be around 38.5%. What would be the best method of farming, presuming doing SS of course and having the patience to do salvage 3 times:
3 solo runs thf/dnc, boss kill most likely undoable unless I completely avoid brainjack.
1 solo run thf/dnc with no probable attempt at boss, and 1 run thf + mage with an almost guaranteed boss kill

The first option, if its the better one, is of course presuming I have the time to do 3 salvage runs in a day.

How much of the run can you hit as a solo thf/dnc?

THF+Mage I assume you can clear 100% of the gears and boss, for say 85 alex + linenchance.
If THF solo can kill all 4 NMs and 100% of gears, but not boss, the alex count should be ~85 = ~12.5x4 pouches + ~35 singles.

Basically comes down to how much you get on avg from a solo run, but I imagine 3x solo will be the best. Even if you only hit the 4 NMs, linen is on avg only 28 alex/run (38% x ~75/linen), 4 cottons at 100% avgs 50/run.

I'm not sure how your gear looks, but I solo SSR on THF and clear most archaia, 4 NMs, and kill the boss. I skip the first room with gears, and avoid the extra ramparts in gyro's room, but kill all other archaia.

You don't really need to avoid brainjack(and how would you anyway, flee kite?). You just make sure you have TP just before 75%/50%/25% and drop a viperbite on it. The poison has quite a long duration. Thus far it has always lasted till after charm wears. It also helps to save a strange milk temp item(regen) and switching to a regen set to help counter brainjack's DoT.

I'd suggest working on your various THF's gear and trying for 3 runs a day with boss clear. Note, While my THF is quite well geared, I've also cleared a run on a much less geared THF(friend's character) with a bit of luck. So it can be done without top tier gear, it's just harder.

Everything but the dectectors to pop steamcleaner seem to be on a 5min timer now. If you just need WS can do any camp in sky, if you need killshot w/ ws, might be better to move down to ro'maeve.

It's for WS killshot, it seems the mobs in Ro'maeve are on 15m respawn timer..... Sky is decent though for it as those are 5m outside of BB room (those were 15m for some reason.)

My thief is good...(- Nyzul gear, hi bechyne :D), my mules thieves are pretty mid/low tier tbh, would probably be in the gimp thread.

I'll try a solo run with my main thief, see how it goes. I could probably do solo with him, and thf+mage with the gimper thief.
