Unfortunately, if getting a different IP doesn't fix your connectivity issue, there's probably fuck all you can do. Your ISP only handles so much, and you've got half the world between you and SE, so anything in between could be a problem outside of either's control. I've had similar issues where the rest of my net seems fine, but FFXI doesn't work, or worse, "dead zones" where I lose access to characters forever 'downloading data' at the black screen until I can either get someone to move me or be absolutely certain I don't have what I've come to consider dirty IPs from SE's awkward auto-security handlings. At best, if a CS rep at your ISP said they gave you a new IP, confirm it, reset your modem/router, and pray. Rest it just up to waiting.
Specifically, people like going to Vunkerl because there are three different camps (rarabs, crawlers, puks) within XP range of each other around the flux #6 lake. You put people in three different groups at different edges of the lake and just have everyone kill; pulls in more than basically any other pug-friendly strategy.
Have everyone turn on all combat filters, have everybody assist (use of a puller for each camp is recommended to both make sure everyone's in XP range of the other camps at all time and to keep people from having to pay attention to effectively assist), and tell them not to kill the assist target until they see an XP notification they didn't cause. It works well, sounds much more complicated than it actually is, and really only requires three pullers that understand what's going on.
150k/hour is a pretty attainable goal for basically any combination of players at that camp provided you do not have half the group actively working against you by never considering there might be a better way than having 10 people run back and forth all day (hrrrrrgh). There may be better ways out there to get cruor but there's something to be said for chillaxing and getting brews while not generally paying attention to the game at all.
Question of my own: do Empyreans get the WS damage bonuses like Mythics and Relics at higher levels or no?
Whats a general Wildfire set look like for RNG?
with the new crafting update, can you level one or all of your subs to 70?
All subs to 70, main craft to 110.
Anyone know why Tarsal Slam isn't blocked by Sentinels Scherzo (NM is easy regardless, I'm just curious why it never stopped it from putting HP to 1)?
How exactly does the Enfeebling enhancement on RDM AF3+2 Body work? Paralyze(2) and Slow(2) as examples would probably help.
Unless it's just retarded bad luck, do you have to proc the NM's in Xarc (the base 15 job 1's) to see a 100 or not? I've never seen 1 drop yet(I've procced all I've killed).
Best GoV to level mule with? 2nd character is 10, main account is 99. I was thinking bostanieux or shakrami, the latter because it's closest.
Currently I'm using
vulcan staff/reaver +1. armageddon/whatever bullet if you want to shell out some cash I guess oricalcum
pandinus/stoicheion/hecate's/novio
mirke with mab/seiryu/agi rings
af3 /aquiline/denali/af3+2
Theres a few obvious improvements... like nyzle stuff, provenence body, tjukurrpa mantle (though really if you have cor too probably just get forban and use for both), probably the 7agi belt etc
Congrats on finishing, now I'm not as alone.
In terms of Pyhrric Kleos, I'd say STR is your best choice, if you look carefully there are a lot of good STR pieces that also have DEX, then its a double win. Toci's Harness for example (13 str, 13 dex). If you're choosing between equal str or dex on the same piece, I'd take the STR, DNC naturally has low STR on gear, and lower attack than other DD jobs, so you'll want to compensate for this when possible. A lot of dex will offset a little str though. Between the advantages of allowing you to stack more STR and double dip fSTR and the ws mod, and the 30% damage increase, you get some nice numbers with PK on 99 terpsi.
As for Augments Steps, I've tested in every way imaginable (and I'm not the only one, after the test server allowed you to get gifted a final form mythic, Byrthnoth tested as well, perhaps others I didn't read about), even using ballista so someone could read their stats to me, and could not find any difference in steps beyond the initial bonus at 75. They're not stronger, they don't last longer, they don't appear to have any visible added effect.
When I read the stats for Terpsichore in Japanese, the V notation is only listed once, which leads me to believe in Japanese, the extra step and the step accuracy are actually 1 buff, but there's no good way to list that in English, so they split it onto 2 lines. In localizing the updates, whoever was in charge of that put the II III IV and V on both lines, but I'm completely convinced its only supposed to apply the step accuracy component of the weapon (10 per tier).
from my experience, procs do not affect the drop rate on 100s from lottery nms
I just find that incredibly weird, isn't Scherzo supposed to calculate dmg ≥ 75% and reduce it by up to 40% depending on skill?
Yes, but that's not how Tarsal Slam works. There are two ways to do an HP->1 attack:
1) Give the attack Damage = Current HP - 1
2) Set player HP to 1
If it was the first kind of attack, Scherzo would work. If it was the second, Scherzo wouldn't work because it's not doing damage. Tarsal Slam seems to be the second kind of attack. Migawari doesn't work against it either.
Best way to test that is to use Rancor Collar. I'm sure someone has done that though.
