Which Merit WS's are best? Came back from September 2009 a week ago, got SAM to 99 and NIN to 93 with my remaining jobs stil lat 75 (BLM DRG DRK PLD WAR MNK SCH).

Started meriting Shoha and I'm on the force pop VNMs for Masamune, so that's one WS. What other two are worth meriting? Planning on getting Verethragna next, and starting to solo some dynamis coins for the start of an Apocalypse. Last Stand/Apex Arrow (I've always wanted to level RNG)? Stardiver, even though crit Drakesbane will outperform almost everywhere?

Entropy if you're getting Apoc. Resolution too if you're going to be spending extended time on drk. It's an amazing ws.

Stardiver is actuallly pretty competetive with DB from what I've seen though I guess that's largely from the att penalty. Last stand absolutely crazy if you get your ratt good. Like if you are looking for epeen dmg especially against nms there ya go. Upheaval is really good if you don't have Ukko's. Whatever the kat one is is good if you don't have Hi. Really it's not a matter of which ones are worth it so much as chosing which ones you need.

That's what I was also thinking except for the fact that I'm... gimme a second to figure it out

18,279 coins away from finishing Apocalypse, and merits aren't exactly difficult to come by anymore.


edit: also I ended up leveling DRK in the period of "omg GSD you noob gtfo". I didn't need to level it for endgame anything because it was something like my fourth or fifth 75 and SAM was my first, fully merited and top notch gear. It took a long time before I got Homam and stuff for DRK so my LS's never had me come DRK to basically anything (aside from merc kris souleater burn). Long story short my GSD skill sucks anus and I need to go find a zvahl fortalice.

I wouldn't bother. Resolution is pretty boss but a nice GA build with Upheaval can do just as well.

It's more a preference of weapon, honestly, over Upheaval. So an Upheaval WAR is about equal to a Resolution WAR? If so, what Gsword besides relic, or still just no?

Stardiver, Resolution, and Entropy/Shijin spiral. If you do Spharai, do Shijin Spiral. If Apoc, then Entropy. Resolution on WAR is amazing zerg material.

Anything else, D is significantly lower than a GAxe that the advantage reso has over upheaval wouldn't be worthwhile.

the quickest way? get some bastion points, get a fanatics drink from the bastion npc, pull all the frogs in abyssea-misreaux and stand there while they beat on you with the drink on.

I'd say mandies are better, especially if you can get a phalanx bitch for a bit. Drink isn't gonna last you for any appreciable amount of time, and time spent bastioning could just be time fighting things normally.

Two part question:

1.) When does the game determine you're going to Double Shot? For example, assume the Double Shot JA is down. On RNG, can I start my ranged attack in say Sylvan's Caban +2 (for the Velocity Shot bonus) and then swap over to an augmented Scout's Jerkin +2 to try for the Double Shot proc? Or do I need to start my ranged attack in Scout's Jerkin for the game to give me a chance at the Double Shot proc?

2.) Assuming Scout's Jerkin +2 works that way, is it even good/worth using?

Double Shot is determined when the ranged attack actually fires, so yes you could do that. I have no idea if it's worth it.

If you beat Maat on a WoTG job... you don't ned to do it again on a Zilart job right? Once Maat is defeated once, it applies to finishing that LB forever until you want Maats cap.

Also, can anyone post the situation you would use Jug Pets on BST @ 99? When to use Falcor... when to use Gooey Slime thing... etc... Just Abyssea'd 99... and just seeing what's best on what. I know Falcor is a beast... but jw when to use others.

Best method to skill up blue magic? Also, what are some good swords to use on BLU that doesn't require magianing?

Spamming Head Butt/Foot Kick on abyssea mobs with Regen atmas or afk Pollen works well.

Not really sure on swords, I used the one from Isgebind as an offhand for Almace until I made STR sword (which is really easy on BLU because you can AoE mobs).
