Yes, same here and I find it rather annoying I like browsing forums and stuff while being able to control my character that's why I use PC+Laptop to dualbox.

Just about finished with Mandau.

What would you use/what is a good set for Mercy Stroke, assuming I am correct in that is the better stacked WS?

Evis in abyssea, Exenterator out when not stacking, and Mercy when stacking?

so i've got this stupid buddy who's cure botting right outside the zone to sandy. i wanna mess with him but i don't wanna get him banned... if i reported him for his first offense would he get banned or suspended? it's only a mule

Depends on priors. If you do that though, he'll get a strike so his next strike may earn him a ban. If you want to mess with him, just have a player you know (That he doesn't know) say they've reported him and that GMs are checking his log or some BS.

Plus you have no way of knowing he has priors. Sometimes you get strikes against you that you don't even know about. Or at least that's what GM's have told some people as to why they were perma banned on what they thought was there first offense. Also might go to explain why sometimes when you report nothing it seems like "nothing" is done about it

Where are the Girtabs in Quicksand Caves? I've found 1 in each of the four rooms (in a square with the pressure pads), but can't for the life of me find any others. Wiki says 19 spawns...

Asked in the tech forums so I figured I'd try here, too. Using Windows 7 64x I can't use my EMS Dualshoot PS2-USB converter so I bought a wired 360 controller. However, the triggers aren't registering. Aside from MotionJoy, anyone know how to get FFXI to read them?

Have you tried using XBCD?

I have set up a couple of computers to use the 360 wireless controller and I could not use that because it is only for wired controllers. So if XBCD does not work you can (and I use that term a bit loosely) use the official Microsoft drivers.

With the official drivers and the games controller set up in the ffxiconfig you can make all but the top bumpers work. What I did to get around that since the autorun is the top left bumper (the macros being the left and right trigger, and the RB being used for lol SSs) was just make the select button next to the guide button (normally used for shortcut logout) the autorun button. So to sum that up, if all else fails the official Microsoft-shit drivers let you use the controller normally except for the autorun and screenshot bumpers.

On a side note my GF (and I, but I am a keyboard only sort of guy) plays in x64 Windows 7 and her Logitec controller was going (buttons were meh) so we went to Gamestop and got the last old, but functional USB PC controller on the shelf. I don't even know what shitty brand it is, but after some tinkering it works like a charm. Perhaps you can try just getting a new controller online too as that was just a plug in and set the button scheme and go sort of thing.

Every time I tried XBCD's website, the files on his cloud were unable to be found so that's why I didn't even mention them. If you've got a place to download'em or can upload those for me, I'd be appreciative.

I have the official MShit drivers installed currently and that's why they're not working, which is dumb(I prefer the trigger position on the 360 to be my macro pallet or I'd survive without the First-person mode).

Realistically they could all be the best in class for the given skill depending on weapon (Kannagi nin wouldn't gain as much as a kikoku, Ukon War not as much as a Ragnarok/Bravura WAR, for example), but GSword and GKat are the most outstanding. Depends what you'll play more than anything else.
