I WS in Hagneia which makes WS set 13STP.

So, I'm like miles and miles away from a relic, only came back to the game a few weeks ago after stopping in late 2009 and lo and behold you can solo Dynamis now... so I started collecting, and I have about 25% of the coins needed for Apocalypse and I started thinking way ahead. It's never too early to theorycraft. This is what I came up with for a Catastrophe set so far (keep in mind that I have basically.... none of this yet). Would Phorcys Body beat out Twilight/is there an alternative to twilight until Phorcys if yes? I'm also assuming that this set would suffice well for an Entropy build as well, since it uses the same Gorget/Belt as Cata does.

mathy bits: 9 STP in this WS set, 17.2 TP on Cata, which means need 20.7 TP/hit for 5 hit, which is 34 STP from gear.
Alternatively could use Ogier's hands for WS, lose out on 2 STR and 9 INT for 18.6 TP per WS, and only needing 31 STP in gear. To me, seems like alternative one is better unless there's something I overlooked?

Obviously missing are the aftermath up/down TP sets but I'm too lazy to do them right now, and since they rely on the WS set I wanted to get opinions on that first.

Thanks Taint. Mind giving me some intermediary pieces that will suffice until I get some of the harder to get pieces? I aim to have 70-80+ percent of that by the time I finish Apocalypse, but I start work for the summer on Monday, which kills my playing time as it's 40 hours a week, not accounting for the travel times, which vary greatly depending on the construction site I need to go supervise.

Depends entirely on the party/camp, just like abyssea. I've managed 80k/hour duoing gov, though I imagine if you're thinking CN-level party where it's actually all midlevels and not 1-2 99's killing for mules, 50-60k/h is more reasonable.

How's Aluh Jambiya for a Twashtar thief? Just came back from a six month break and a friend showed it to me. Is it worth making a STR magian over buying one? I don't see myself getting Coruscanti for a while, if ever. Still catching up on wins.

Howdy, quick question related to Moten's excel spreadsheets and an Accuracy/Attack Capped set on my monk for VS. This is on ADLs, where we have enough minuets/madrigals/rolls to cap accuracy and attack; most of the gear is quite obvious, but I am torn about two particular slots.

My current set:
Head: Shura+1 with +3% WSD, +4 DEX, +5 Attack
Neck: Nefarious collar
Ammo: Tantra tathlum
Ear1: Brutal
Ear2: Moonshade with +4 Attack, +25 TP Bonus
Body: Tantra+2
Ring1: Epona's
Ring2: Rajas
Back: Rancorous
Belt: Wanion
Feet: Kacura+1

The two slots I am torn with are hands/legs obviously: I am currently using Athos's gloves (do not have myrmex), and Thaumas Legs for the +9 STR. I was considering swapping in Athos's legs for the +4% Crit dmg and the +3% crit rate from pairing the hands/legs. However, when I plug athos's legs into Moten's spreadsheet over Thaumas legs, there is a significant (~80) damage drop in predicted WS damage. I quadruple checked that I had the parameters setup so that attack and accuracy are capped even without thaumas equipped in the set I am testing (so the accuracy/attack from Thaumas legs are playing no role); impetus is set to true, everything is in order. My initital gut instinct was that +4% Crit damage, and +3% crit rate on smite would far outperform 9 STR, but the excel sheet says otherwise. I know people have been critical of these excel sheets before, so I am intereseted in hearing any opinions people may have to offer.

I'm really not sure what could be going on here. I plugged in the gear you listed, set as /war, vs Pil, capped att and acc, and changing between Athos and Thaumas legs (without accounting for set bonus on Athos) only showed a change of 6 points of damage (2278 Thaumas, 2284 Athos).

For debugging, check the Weaponskill page and look at all the working stats when each leg piece is selected (ie: WSC, crit rate, etc), and see if you see any differences between them.

Or just download a fresh copy and see if that works for you.

I don't see how a magian could possibly beat it. Even given the lower delay on thok the aluh has better dmg/delay ratio, and the crit dmg should beat the little str and att gains np.

make sure you have the lycopodium quest thing for telepoting up cliffs/one way's, bring a flower with you(a carnation works fine), VW tele to garliage entrance, and ride the sparkle(lycopodium thing) up the one way inside GC to get past gate 2.

Retaliation with all the mandies and it almost won't matter. You can just use a Bronze Axe or something, though. The difference isn't that large.
