    Personally, my primary desktop has a reference design Radeon HD6870 in it still. Has been nearly trouble free. I would try a clean Windows install n' all that first if you haven't though. You could have some crapware or malware running in the background or some other odd thing bleeding your performance (unless it's -just- XI).

    Neither XI or Diablo III are particularly demanding. Tom's Harware did a Diablo III performance comparison here that might be nice if you do elect to get a new card.

    for serious zerg fights, where you have cor and brd buffs etc, drg/sam or drg/war? I've basicaly gone /sam to everything, but a few comments i've read on BG in the last few weeks and the fact that i'll be 6-hitting with either sub has me wondering.

    I would say /war for sure by far. For serious zergs hasso is useless since you cap ja haste with Spirit Surge. Berserk, 10%DA >>>>> 15 sTP, sekkanoki, meditate

    15STP means /sam 5hits though. Maybe /war could 5hit with OAT and Phorcys + Stuff, but im not 100%.

    What about for general non-zerg content? Is Serk/DA > Hasso? I remember asking this same question a few months ago and being told "No, Hasso > That".

    Just came back after a half-year break and I'm interested in doing dynamis with a lowman group (3-4 ppl) mainly for currency farming. Was wondering which are the best target mobs / farm cycles for CoP zones? Doing a little research in the forums, I've decided to do something like the following:

    Buburimu: Dhalmels > Bunnies > Ravens
    Qufim: Snolls > Gaylas > ???
    Valkurm: Hippos > ??? > ???

    What I'm aiming to do is, depending on the time when all TE's are dead, stay with a specific family of mobs for 2/3's of vanadiel day (during JA and WS hours) and then switch to another family when that is done, for another 40min or so. Now, I know I can't be doing 40min > 40min > 40min because I still have to account for the initial minutes spent killing the TE's but that's the general idea. Maybe it would be like 20min (TE) > 20min family1 > 40min family 2 > 40min family 3. Of course this depends also on the people currently farming, but that's the general idea.

    My setup would be 2-3 DD's with /DNC and a THF/DNC for TH. Suggestions on this strategy? Best mobs to aim for with this setup? Thanks in advance

    just figure out how to solo stuff safely

    ja's are the way to go for proccing pretty much always, it's stupid as hell

    what mobs you kill on which cycle is determined entirely by how many bst are farming a given family at that time

    wasn't spirit surge given its own category (I.E. its not JA haste OR Magic Haste, it has its own category and doesn't fall under either cap)?

    i'm also stuck with a 492 delay plm, so without phorcys or at least floor 80 gear i feel i'm lowering my overall DPS by using all the STP gear i can get my hands on. I haven't Mathed it out, but i figured without at least a moonshade (which i'm close to but don't have yet) a 5hit 492 delay setup isn't worth it. So the loss of 5-hit isn't an issue in this particular case.

    You could 5hit a /sam 492 without F80/100.
    Gung/Rose/Hagneia
    Zelus/Hyoui/Whatever/Brutal
    Af3+2/Brego/Tyrant/Rajas
    Rancorous/Goading/Ace's/Af3+2
    26% Haste, 19.9TP

    WS in Rose, Hagneia, Brutal, AF3+2 body, Ogier hands and Rajas for 19.6TP. This 5hits off any 2hit WS (Drakes or Stardiver. For Gierskogul you'd need to macro in Tyrant+Hyoui too).

    It's not pretty, but the losses aren't killer if you haven't got any nyzul gear.

    concerning Spirit Surges Haste classification

    srsly wtf... i'm inclined to believe BGwiki over Otherwiki but:

    The Dragoon gains a 25% Haste boost. It is counted toward the "Haste gained from magic" cap (43.75%). Since the update of February 14 2012, the "Haste" effect granted by Spirit Surge now stacks with similar effects granted by spells and equipment.

    BGwiki:
    The Dragoon receives a Haste boost (of 25%) to its melee attacks.

    The Haste from Spirit Surge is applied towards the Job Ability Haste cap.

    i remember seeing the dev comments about what they were THINKING about doing, but not what they ended up doing with this. Anyone?

    It was changed from magic to JA haste but otherwiki havent been update with many things for a long time now.

    Any good Rudra's sets out there? My stuff is outdated, it's all 90 cap! I plan on doing Neo-Nyzul eventually so sets with Thaumus pieces are fine. Thank you.

    There's not much "rationale" as you would expect in natural sciences. The difference is purely mathematical and there's very little to say about 563 average beating 523 average beyond simply pointing out the numbers. That said, if you look at the equation:

    (Base damage)(fTP)(pDIF)

    STR affects (Base Damage) and (pDIF). (Base Damage) is comprised of (Weapon Base Damage) + (fSTR) + (WSC%). There's actually two contributions towards (Base Damage) by STR. One contribution is towards fSTR and the other is towards WSC%.

    ATT and Critical hit rate affect (pDIF). However, they contribute towards pDIF differently. Attack is used in ratio. Critical hits, when they occur, increase the cap on pDIF (Cap=Maximum value possible) and change the equations used to determine pDIF. This change in equation improves the value of pDIF.
