Is there information regarding geodes? Wanting to know it's drop system in particular, how it relates to Ites dropping. Shit feels like the beastmen seals where you can only get one every five minutes or so.

Been wanting to farm some flame geodes in my spare time since they're 60k+ on Asura AH right now, and I'm not that desperate to finish my STR Sword trial completely. I'm not sure if there's a particular level range I should aim for to prevent Ites from dropping instead, or whether day or weather has priority on the kind that drops.

The lower limit for geodes really has not been tested as far as I know, but they seem to drop from any mob that is at least easy prey. The lower level for Avatarites has been tested, and it is level 80. So to get only Flame Geodes, you want to fight EP mobs no higher than level 79. Weather has a higher priority than day, but hot spells and heat waves are a bag of cocks. As Martinius mentioned, http://ff11info.com/bazaar/en/weather.php is a good way to find weather ahead of time for trying to farm up geodes or do magian trials. And as he also noted, TH does seem to help.

What are synergy HQ rates like? HQ hats seem to be worth roughly enough to make 1/8 profitable, but that's a pretty high HQ rate.... certainly higher than traditional crafting usually gets.

Hats likely lower since they're not Synergy<10, but 1/8 is definitely possible - keep in mind fewell costs and it's more likely break-even around 1/7.5, so 1/7 or less or to make money from it.

Leveling mnk now, never really used it before but have a decent grasp of the job. I'm stopping at 77 for now since it's been Abyssea-burned and going to level h2h skill and also get some gear, as the literal only stuff I have is the main sky god gear, walmart turban, and 2 pieces of af2. Working on tantra seals and +2 so I can have stuff to level into but for the level, and lets just assume 75 cap going to 80, what sort of gear should I be looking at for tp and ws, assuming Victory Smite won't ever be an option, just planning to use Asuran Fists and the Nyzul ws (forget it's name...) Also what sort of ws gear for 90-99?

Still got my agi/dex anwig salade with crit hit damage and ws damage. My favorite jobs are thief, dancer, ninja, and I'm leveling monk and ranger. Anyway, does a ws anwig still hold up for Rudras/Exent/Jin/Hi? Haven't unlocked shun and don't know crap about ranger weapon skills.

Body is still a great Uts. swap piece, or Pet stats if you're into that.

Hat has pet DT and can also get +5 fast cast for jobs that wouldn't have it otherwise. 2% MDT is still the most NIN can get.

Legs are still the best PDT piece for some jobs, I think. Repair potency for PUP, and I've always been a fan of the -5 Waltz cost.

Have bst? The PDT helmet is still the best.

Did you do PDT and pet haste, or PDT and Regen? I have a spurrer beret so I'm a little reluctant to put pet haste on the MKD hat as well.

Waltz recast is really useful if you want another utility augment added on instead of putting something silly like 1 regen.

Is it possible to get the sanction food buff and have x2 food anywhere or does it only work while in ToAU zones?

You have to eat the food in a ToAU zone to get the extended duration, but then you can travel anywhere/replace Sanction/etc and you'll still have the doubled duration.
