Woman Beaten to Death in Own Home

Innocent muslim mother of five beaten nearly to death, with doctors saying there is no chance of Survival. Assailants broke in to her home, and savagely beat her leaving her body in a pool of blood to be discovered by her 17 year old daughter, with a note saying "go back to your own country, you're a terrorist"

El Cajon - A woman found beaten in the head with a tire iron, was hospitalized. Shaima Alawadi, 32, a mother of five, was found unconscious by her 17-year-old daughter on Wednesday around 11:15 A.M. A note telling her to "Go back home", was found at the residence.
A family friend Sura Alzaidy, told the San Diego Union Tribune about the note, which authorities did not disclose. The note told the woman and the Alawadi family to "Go back to your own country. You're a terriorist". The woman is of Iraqi descent.

[edit] come to think of it, the largest Middle Eastern Store I've found in the SD area, and my personal favorite to go to, is in El Cajon and is surrounded by a pretty big Arab community.

Not to say that this really has any relevance, as crimes like this can happen anywhere, it's just shocking to me.

I was laughing more at her being 32 and having a teenage daughter. Her martyr'ing and grandstanding got pretty old though, that's not the type of behavior you expect to see from someone who frets over life and death like Americans do. You see that from people who kill their kids and call out for help from the community to find them.

However, I think the topic should have read, "because stupid people don't live in america" as that is more accurately sarcastic. This is the same state that riled up black people to vote against gay marriage lol.

Was she killed for her religion or her race? It's not totally clear to me. Maybe she was killed for both. Regardless, its terrible either way.

I'm saying with respect to her religion, Muslims would see this as her being killed for her beliefs -- so she'd be a martyr. Instant paradise access. I asked about it this morning as a few of my FB friends are devout Muslims. All of them responded saying they believed because of the manner and situation in which she was killed that she was a martyr.

People know well around here I am no fan of religion. But I want to interject that though that head scarf is seen as a trapping of islam, it is actually a cultural practice that predates the islamic religion. What does that do to change how people view it now? Nothing at all. I just think that regardless what I think is wrong with organized religion, I like to make sure that the distinction is clear when something is not an actual symptom of the religion. According to islam all muslims shouldn't be trying to show off their bodies, it just happens that cultural conventions allowed them to push it over towards female muslims rather than equally among the sexes.
