Usually get completely mobbed by kids on Halloween at my place. Bought 6 bags of candy yesterday (buy 2 get 1 free), 3 Reese's & 3 Kitkat. Had 0 trick or treaters this year. I had one person knock and by the time I got to the door they were gone. Nobody rang the bell, not even once. It got to the point where I wondered if the doorbell was broken, but when the wife tested it it was working and the dog started going nuts because she thought someone was at the door.

So I know the doorbell didn't ring because the dog was quiet the whole night. I purposely sat and watched the Overwatch World Cup in anticipation that I wouldn't be able to play a game without being interrupted.

I had mine out a year ago, there were some immediate changes for a while, but it's now pretty much the same as it used to be. It's different with everyone.

Brill, I would just want you to know that sometimes doctors accidentally leave stones behind stuck in the bile duct, as was the case with me. So after having mine removed, I began having gallbladder attacks again because my bile duct was still blocked by stones. I had to have another procedure after my initial surgery to fix it, and I wasn't warned this was a possibility. Those smaller, left-over stones didn't show up on an ultrasound, either.

I got 5 trick or treaters last night, but none of them successfully identified me as a bear. I basically got every kind of mammal as a guess except bear.

Oh well. At least I have a dozen Snickers left over.

After living in this apartment for 3 years got my first trick or treater last night. Of course having not gotten any the years before and being way in the corner and it ya know pouring down rain last few days I didn't expect no one so wasn't prepared. Didn't even have the huge bag I bought for myself cause last cheat day was too gluttonous

Worked Uber last night for about 3 hours hoping to make some decent money being Halloween + Monday Night Football. Only made 50 bucks in about 2.5-3 hrs of work.

Yup, I worked Saturday from around 12:30 to 1:30am with a quick break to take Astylla home from work and grab some dinner and made a little over 200 bucks that night. Friday night working like 4 hours I made 85. Friday and Saturday nights generally seem to be the best. A lot of fucking cheapskates though. Expect me to load their fucking luggage if I pick them up at the airport and unload it for them and don't even toss a tip.

I looked in to being a driver for extra money but my truck is not an extended cab which rules me out

Tip thing is because Uber has a higher fee which should be a built-in tip; at least that was the deal when it launched. As far as loading/unloading luggage, though, that'd warrant an extra tip from me.

Was everywhere dead on Friday? We went out for a friend's birthday and the bars that are usually packed in Astoria were significantly less populated. We had an entire counter top and corner for 8 people at the first bar. The second bar there were only 4 people other than us when we went in and it's a large beer hall with decent BBQ also served until like 4am.

Yeah I've never tipped on uber because it's built in. Although I don't expect them to load/unload my luggage either.

I mostly only use it for drinking anyway.

Here's the thing. Yeah we get approximately 70-75% of the fare, but unlike cabbies, we have to cover taxes (bye bye 25% off the top), gas, maintenance, etc. I had one passenger Saturday, only 5.5 miles but took almost 17 minutes due to traffic, and made a whole whopping 6.55 off of them. Even a couple of bucks if they take care of you goes a long way.

Also don't use Uber Pool. It sucks complete ass for the driver. Had one my first weekend I did it, was almost an hour between two passengers, from Oakland to San Francisco, and after bridge toll, only made 13 bucks for what was an hour of bullshit and traffic.

Sounds like you should work for Lyft instead. They get tipped

Also, what city do you work in? 17 mins would not be only 6.55 here in Boston.

They do, indeed. I usually use Lyft or take yellow/green cabs.

That one was if I remember was Castro Valley to Downtown Hayward, so nothing but non stop traffic lights, and can't use the freeway at all to circumvent any of it. It's why I switched to a different location and did a more affluent area this past weekend.

I need to get registered with them. This is literally week #3 for me. I do want to try both to see how it goes. I know in the bay area with Uber being headquartered here (not sure about lyft) it seems to be the more popular one.

SHIT I DIDNT KNOW YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO TIP LYFT DRIVERS. I used it for the first time for a ride to the airport because no Uber drivers wanted to get stuck in that traffic.
