So after spending all day at the hospital I got fed up and asked the nurse when the wife's surgery was scheduled. She said she couldn't tell me. I made her call pre-op to find out. This is after we had asked no less than a dozen times since yesterday. Turns out they fucking forgot to schedule her. So she has now spent two extra days in the hospital doing nothing. And now I'm going to have to fight the insurance about the cost of today. The surgeon came up and said it was either going to be late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

that's 100% on the hospital. "i forgot" is not an acceptable reason to bill someone for a hospital stay. I'd flat out say "I am not paying for the extra hospital time. It's the hospital's mistake." and see what they say. DON'T SAY "your mistake" because the person you're talking to will get defensive. you need them to work with you on it, even though it's their fault, and even though you'll both understand "you" in this context is the hospital, it'll make the person FEEL like you're yelling at them personally. so don't do that.

Hasn't eaten since 10pm Saturday night.

So she called me at 9pm and told me to come back. Got back a little before 10 and they had her in pre op. It's an hour long procedure. But I'll be here until she wakes up from the sedation and then I'll head home. Hopefully that means she leaves tomorrow but who knows with this shit show of a hospital. And no it's not Kaiser. It's UPMC which is usually really good. Except she chose to go to the red headed step child of their hospital branches.

I guess my friend really loves cats. She saw one get hit at about 3 in the morning and after getting it out of the road (and it had died at this point), she sat on the side in a parking lot with it for over an hour (45 minutes of, I went to join since I didn't want to leave her out there by herself) until animal control was able to send someone out for it.

I'm so fucking tired of people brining their kids to the office. I understand things come up occasionally but in less than 3 months the same person has done it at least 4 times and it's always a different excuse. It likely doesn't help I think said person sucks at their job yet receives no coaching even after multiple times the same issues happen over and over. Ironically they never were going to hire them at all but they got desperate.

I'm a fucking bitch today because I haven't gotten much sleep , I'm tired of being ignored when I have relative feedback or information to provide and didn't come to work to deal with this shit. Fuck I wish I had sick days left.

So boss asks me why his comp says low memory... shit is at literally 0 usuable out of 166gb or something. Like holy shit never seen anything like that. Webpages wont load properly to help look up problem. Restarts cause errors because there is literally no memory to create regular like 3k logs.

Try to talk him thru looking where all this memory is going but it's literally repeat the same exact instructions multiple times for each folder and file looking for bigger stuff. And if I'm not being overly instructive he just starts clicking random stuff and then forgetting which folders we've been thru. Don't really understand why since he is very methodical when it comes to most electronics or building stuff or mechanics but he sees a computer screen and it's time to start thrown darts at a board.

Finally just jump in there and seems windows log folder if fucking 29gb and the temp folder is 70+gb lol. Do some searching seems the problems are related and basically every few hours it causes a decent sized file to get written into temp. Managed to delete about 9gb before ran into some problems. Looks like the bosses account might not have permissions to delete all these possibly including the root cause. But didn't really have time to check since now there was some free space he wanted to do work. Of course with root cause not fixed I imagine in a few days there will be no room again

Lack of materials yesterday resulted me in not doing my usual manufacturing work. Get grilled by supervisor for not asking the upstream group to help me get my raw materials. Hey idiot, if you didn't hear me, I told you there was no email or correspondence saying the material delivery was unable to be fulfilled, nor who to contact to get this issue fixed. I can't go to said upstream group either because they didn't know it wasn't fulfilled either. And I'm not their boss so I can't tell them what to do.

I get admonished for not instructing a group, that I have no authority over, to give my my stuff. I try giving another solution because trying to create contingency plans to prevent this from happening sounds swell. Get admonished again for not acting like an asshole customer and begging for my stuff so I can work. *facepalm*
